A/N; I guess this is a filler chapter? haha. i don't know. I won't be posting much because I have family in town. sidebar is Lucy.
"Can I leave for a second?"
Niall looked at me as if he thought I was going to run away, but the other boys shrugged indifferently.
"I'm just going to call Lucy, don't worry," I assured the blonde boy as I rested my hand on the doorknob.
"Okay," Niall said slowly, turning away from me and picking up the Pelligrino bottle from the floor. Still watching him, I turned the doorknob with the back of my hand and almost fell over. Quickly, I composed myself, hoping no one saw my failure, and slid the door open and walked outside.
I dialed Lucy's number with shaking, anticipating hands. She didn't pick up immediately, and I felt a tad bit guilty; I was probably ruining her date with Josh. But Harry's crumpled expression made its way back into the front of my mind and I no longer cared,
"Hello?" Lucy sounded irritated, but I ignored it.
"Lucy, it's Allie."
"I know, I have caller ID."
I rolled my eyes. "I need your help."
"You have thirty seconds."
I sighed. "Okay. MydadwentmissingandElizabeththinkshe'scomingtofindmeandtheboyswantmetocomewiththemtoLondonandIdon'tknowwhattodobecauseIdon'twanttobetheirbaggageandI'mfreakingconfusedcanyouhelpme."
Lucy was quiet. "Huh?"
"My dad's gone, Luce. Elizabeth thinks he's coming to look for me. I don't know if he wants to make things right or...I don't even know, but I can't stay here."
"But if he wants to make things right--"
"But we don't know that," I told her. "The boys are going back to England--I forget when, but it's soon--and want me to come with them."
"So go," Lucy said, as if this was the easiest thing in the world. "This is because of your dad, right?"
"Uh huh."
"You said you wanted to play it safe. Just go. Have a little adventure in your life. Some pizazz," she explained.
"I don't want them to do anything else for me! They've done enough!" I glared at the wall.
"Ever thought that they weren't doing it for you, Allie?" Lucy said forcefully.
I paused. "What? Who..."
In the seconds that passed, I got the impression that Lucy was doing some quick thinking. "You know, because they wouldn't want to live with themselves if your dad..." She trailed off, but I felt like that wasn't the whole truth.
"Okay, but--"
"I've wasted enough time now, Josh is probably wondering why it takes me so long to pee."
"You're in the bathroo--"
"Bye."
I heard dial tone and groaned. She'd hung up.
She was kind of right. Who said that going to London with One Direction wouldn't be fun? Thousands of girls would kill to be in my place right now...and I was about to say no. When I thought about it like that -- how it was safer and would be great fun -- I couldn't think of a reason not to go.
I pushed the worries aside and took a deep breath.
Guess I'm going to London with One Direction.
