A/N; you are all so perfect I cannot even believe it. Thank you for being so patient with me, my schoolwork was seriously kicking my butt. I hope you enjoy this sadly belated update, and because of your patience, it's Niall & Allie's second date! I think you're going to like it (;
We rarely saw Harry after that -- he and Kristine were always together, no matter what they did. To be honest, I really didn't see what Harry saw in her at all. She was bossy and controlling, and they fought practically every second of every day. Secretly, in a crazy way, I was glad he kept her around, though. I needed to see if she actually knew anything about this person sending me these things, or about the man who attacked my mum. Of course, she wouldn't leave Harry's side, so I never got a chance to talk to her. And if I told any of the boys or Lucy this, they probably wouldn't believe me anyway.
Lucy hated Kristine with a burning passion, more than I'd seen her hate anyone else in the whole world. This was weird to me, because, even though Kristine was horrible, I couldn't see how anyone could hate a person this much. The tirades Lucy would go on about her seemed to last forever, and they were about anything she could possibly think of that she could pin against her. Mostly, it consisted of the way she treated Harry, but it also included the way she talked down to all of us, her attitude, the way she flaunted her money, and even resorted to picking at her outfits.
"She's not even that pretty," Lucy told me as she lay down on her bed, throwing a squishy rubber ball up in the air and catching it in one hand. "I mean, it's all makeup. She just wants to impress people."
You can see how this would take me off guard, because a few weeks ago, Lucy was absolutely positive that she was not in love with Harry Styles.
"Yeah," I agreed halfheartedly, not fully paying attention. I was lost in thought, gazing down at my mother's golden chain on my lap. I wondered, maybe if I took it to the police they'd scan it for fingerprints? That would be a last resort; making a big deal out of something that wasn't. At least, not yet.
"You're not even listening to me," Lucy complained.
"Yeah," I repeated, not paying attention at all.
Lucy rolled her eyes just as the rubber ball landed square on her face.
"Oh, shit," she complained, clutching her nose.
Her cry caught me out of my daydream. "What did you do, idiot?" I giggled, taking the ball from out of her hands. I took her hand and sat her up.
"It landed on my face," she said plaintively. Her lip was bleeding a bit.
"Come on, sweetie, let's clean you up," I said, and she followed me downstairs to the kitchen.
All of the boys except for Harry were sitting in the living room watching TV, because earlier they had complained that theirs had all broken. When they saw Lucy and I coming down the stairs, they sat up.
"What happened to you?" Louis asked mischievously, grinning at Lucy.
"A ball landed on my face," she told him, and Zayn laughed from beside him.
"Poor baby," he cooed.
She just laughed slightly at herself and followed me into the kitchen.
I grabbed her a paper towel and wet it, handing it to her to dry her lip off. She took it from me delicately, and just as she was about to lift it to her face, Niall came up behind her.
"You okay?" he asked her, but she just sighed. He laughed and shook his head in return.
"She'll be fine, eventually," I told him, and Lucy walked back into the living room.
