Your POV
You rolled out of bed one April morning, happy that it was the weekend. A Hogsmeade trip had been scheduled so students had a second chance to take their apparating license test. You and Remus had both recently turned 17, so you both were eligible for the test. Lily had already taken hers, passing easily on the first attempt.
You settled on a simple springy outfit consisting of jeans and a white shirt. It was getting to be warmer outside, but there was still a slight chill to be felt in the air.Once you were dressed and ready, you walked down to the Common Room to meet you boyfriend. "Morning, Remus," you said, giving him a kiss.
"You ready to get going?" he asked you. You nodded in response, grabbing his hand as you began to walk toward the portrait hole. This trip to Hogsmeade was scheduled for an earlier time than previous trips, allowing you and Remus to eat breakfast in the village rather than in the Great Hall.
You and Remus exited the school and boarded the familiar scarlet train, next stop at Hogsmeade. It started to rain as the train pulled away from the station, making for a bit of a dreary landscape. But it was a quick ride, so you and Remus were at the village within a few short minutes.
When the train pulled into the Hogsmeade station, you and Remus stood up and exited the train. You paused for a moment in the station, hiding from the rain. "So where are we going to eat?"
Remus responded, "It's up to you, but I heard James talking about a new bakery that opened. He won't stop talking about how he wants to take Lily there."
"Sounds good to me!" You and Remus ran to the bakery, hoping to minimize the wetness on your clothes from the weather.
Once at the bakery, you and Remus got a table near the window, watching the storm. It began to thunder and lightning, making for quite a show. The growling of your stomach mixed with the noises of the storm. "Merlin, I'm starving!" you said.
Finally, someone came to take your order. You ordered a croissant and scrambled eggs. Remus ordered chocolate chip pancakes. You scarfed down your breakfast once it arrived, drawing an amused reaction from Remus.
After breakfast, you said to Remus, "We'd better get going to the test or else we'll miss it! It starts in ten minutes and I'm not even sure of where we take the test."
Sadly, the storm had only gotten worse. The rain had picked up, making it difficult to see. It was also quite windy now. These certainly weren't the best conditions for apparating.
Remus looked at you doubtfully, saying, "I bet they'll cancel the tests. It's too dangerous to attempt to apparate in this weather."
"We'd better check anyways." So you and Remus headed out bravely into the storm, headed to where Remus thought the test was supposed to take place. The streets were coated in mud, sucking at the flats you wore. "Arghh!" Your shoe finally got stuck in the mud, sliding off. You tried to balance on one foot, but the wind pushed you from backwards. In one last frantic effort, you grabbed Remus' arm, hoping to steady yourself. Instead, you both tumbled backwards into the mud, cursing.
"Merlin, I'm completely covered in mud!" Remus groaned. "There is absolutely no way we are going to take our apparating tests today. We might as well just go back to the castle!"
You nodded rapidly, "Good idea!" You stood up, put on you mud-coated shoe, and traipsed back to the train station. Your clothes were absolutely soiled with the wet mud that clung to them. It had turned out to be quite a miserable day.
