Just To Be With You

His laugh filled the room. A bright smile on his face as he held me close. He was mine and I was his.

"I love you Malaki." He whispered in my ear, pulling me closer.

I giggled and turned around in his lap, resting my forehead against his, my brown eyes meeting his blue ones.

"I love you too Nick." I pressed a gentle kiss on his lips.

Nick and I had been together for five years, since we were 15. We had been crushing on each other for months before he finally asked me on a date and I don't regret any of it.

"I sure hope you do ." He smiled. Nick looked at the clock resting on my table, his smile widened. "Happy fifth anniversary baby."

"Happy fifth anniversary!" I smiled and stood up, pulling him over to my window.

I opened the window and crawled out, carefully climbing onto the roof, Nick following short after me.

We sat down next to each other, cuddling into each other and watched the stars. This man next to me was perfect and I couldn't ask for better.

"I'm so lucky to have you Malaki. You're my world and I can't wait for the rest of our lives together. I can't wait to grow old with you, to have kids with you, I can't wait to wake up to you every morning for the rest of my life."

I woke up with short breath. I've been having these dreams for weeks now. I know why but I can't accept it. It's not real. Everything is just as it was all those months ago.

He's still alive.

I will wake up from this dream and he'll be there with breakfast and his infamous smile.

Nick can't be gone.
