It was the day of Nick's surgery, the hardest day of my life. I sat at his bedside, just talking to him like everything was fine. I knew that whatever happened, I would remember these moments. The sound of his voice, the feel of his hand and even the rhythm of his breathing.

"Nick just promise me you do everything you can to see me again." I but my lip and stared him in the eyes.

"I promise. How could I let something so perfect slip away?" He smiled and leaned up to kiss me deeply.

I laughed and looked down at our entwined hands.

"Malaki I need you to promise me something." His time became very serious.

"What is it?"

"If I don't make it through this surgery, you'll try to move on. You'll live your life as the boy I fell in love with. But no matter what you'll remember me." Nick started to tear up.

"How could I ever forget about you Nick? You're the best thing that has ever happened to me."

"I'm so lucky to have you."

"And you always will be."

"I hope I will wake up and give you that family you always dreamed of." He smirked, genuine happiness filling his eyes.

"You will. I just know it." I smiled and laid on the bed next to him.

We continued to talk until the doctors came in for him.

"Nick we are ready for you."

He nodded and turned to me. Giving me the most heart wrenching kiss I have ever felt. Knowing that this may be the last kiss he could ever give me.

"I love you, more than anything." His hand squeezed mine one last time.

"I love you too Nick. You have my heart." I smiled softly, pushing the hair out of his eyes, taking one more long gaze into them. As if I was trying to memorize them.

"And you have mine Malaki." He was them wheeled out of the room.
