“25 minutes until show time you two!” The stage assistant hollered to Zach and I.

“Okay, thank you.” I said back.

Zach and I were so excited! When we preformed our song we not only won the contest, but we put a video on the school website and now we are here playing our song at an event for new found artists and I heard that there will be agents here. I am so nervous and I don’t think Zach is doing any better, he is now sitting in the corner hyperventilating. I must have been a wreak because as I was getting my makeup done Niall kept reassuring me I was going to do great.

“10 minutes!” He yelled. I sucked in a sharp breath.

“Hey, don’t worry it’s gonna be okay. Both of you! I still get nervous and jittery before a concert and we’re playing stadiums now for crying out loud! But once I get on stage and I see all our loyal fans, the nerves just fade away for me.”

“Thank you Niall.” I smiled and I think that Zach was a little better now that Niall gave us a talk.

“Now, I can’t wait to hear it. You made me wait all this time so you better make it great for me.” He teased.

We both got the finishing touches on our outfits, hair and makeup and with 3 more minutes we were sent out. We both watched the cameras, waiting for them to call our names. “Knock em’ dead!” Niall said and I replied by embracing in a warm, long hug.

“Now, this next pair preformed their original song for a collage assignment and won their little contest and it was put on their website and this is how we found them.  Now preforming their song Little Talks, give it up for Allie Jackson and Zach Peters!”

We gave each other one last look before Zach and I walked out there and I was going to give it my all. The moment the first note played all my nerves drifted away and I could tell it was the same for Zach.

Hey! Hey! Hey!

“I don't like walking around this old and empty house” I started the first line of the song.

So hold my hand, I'll walk with you, my dear

The stairs creak as I sleep, it's keeping me awake

It's the house telling you to close your eyes

And some days I can't even dress myself

It's killing me to see you this way

'Cause though the truth may vary

This ship will carry our bodies safe to shore

Hey! Hey! Hey!

There's an old voice in my head that's holding me back

Well tell her that I miss our little talks

Soon it will be over and buried with our past

We used to play outside when we were young

And full of life and full of love.

Some days I feel like I'm wrong when I'm right
