Chapter 28: Love is a Crazy Thing

"What!" I fumed to the man sitting across the desk. I started going off on him and then one word from Zach stopped me right in my tracks.

"okay."

"Wait. WHAT! Zach you don't know what your talking about do you." Zach chuckled and then put my hand in his.

"Allison, I really like you a lot. I mean for a long time. You and I would be so good together, why can't we be dating for real?" He said. I scoffed and pulled my hand away.

"Because you know who I love. I told you about it and you know how important he is to me. I like you as a friend...but not this way Zach."

"No actually I didn't hear you say you love him , I just heard you say you liked him a lot. We can do this Allie, your feelings will grow for me. I'll treat you better then he ever would!"

"Well I love him! I love Niall Horan! And you know, I may have had some trouble figuring it out, but now I know. I'm sorry that I don't feel the same, but I just can't! I was going to tell him that night and I wanted to go with him to the awards." I admitted.

"Bye Sir, I'll see you soon. " I said leaving now.

"Miss Jackson, if you or Zach mention what happened, I'm going to drop you from my label I am giving you."

1 Week Later

"Allison Rosemary Jackson!" My name awoke me from my slumber. Louis stormed into my room. "Louis, what it's still morning you know!" He pulled the covers off of me as I screamed, carrying me to the couch. "I thought you loved Niall!" He yelled. "What are you talking about Louis, of course I do."

I was now confused until Louis pulled out a rolled up magazine from his back pocket and threw it on my lap. I picked it up and read the cover.

Allie Jackson and Zach Peters Officially Dating!

I scrunched my eyebrows and found the article.

It is now official, Zach Peters Confirmed it! Him and the lovely Allison Jackson (also called Allie) are finally dating. The two were nothing more than classmates and friends, but then were assigned as partners to write a song.

"As we worked on the song we connected on a different level out of this world and I think that's when we both fell for each other." The adorable and sweet Zach dishes to us. What about that Irish cutie Niall Horan though? Allie has been seen with all of the One Direction lads, but seems to be particularly close with Niall. We have no words yet from Allie or Niall, but we'll take Zach's word for it. We wish the best of luck to the new couple. What do you think of the set? "Louis, I wish I could explain but I can't..." He rolled his eyes and laughed to himself. "That's what I thought. So, how do you think Niall feels?" He raised his voice to me. "Niall knows?" I asked, my eyes watering. All of this isn't even true and I can't say anything. "Well I haven't told him, but I figure news will spread pretty quickly if it hasn't already!"

I took deep breath, trying to think of all the right things to say but nothing would come up. "You have to know, I do love Niall and-" He interrupted me. "No! You don't because if you did you would be with Niall and not Zach!" Then he stepped closer to me.

"I've been playing match maker for who knows how long between you and Niall and let me tell you that boy is crazier then you ever will be for him! You tell me you have all of these feelings and that you love him but-" I was full on sobbing now as I tried to explain. "But I do love him Louis! I do love him!" I sobbed to him. "yeah, well tell that to your new boyfriend well I try and fix my mate's broken heart!" With that he walked out of my place and slammed the door.

"I do love him!" I screamed.

"I do." I said just above a whisper curled on the floor.

"I do."

"I do."

"I do."

"I do." I repeated for as long as I can remember.

Here I am in the pit of wallowing as I'm talking to my father about my problems. Yeah, I'm cool, it just shows me how much I depend on the boys for my problems. Now, they're all mad at me, every single one of them. Well I'm not sure about Niall because I can't even get a hold of him, but everyone else sure had some things to say about me "dating" Zach when they didn't even know the truth. If I could just tell them that Zach is making all of this up I would.

"Honey your crying! I told them in my letter not to make you cry!" He yelled to himself.

"Wait Dad! What letter?" I asked.

"Well um, before you left for London I sent the guys separate letters and one together. You know, just telling them stuff about you and what not to do. And I gave them each jobs to make you seem more at home and to keep you safe."

"Dad! Why would do that! That is not their job to take care of me! I'm also 18 years old and know how to take care of myself!" I yelled.

"Allison, do not raise your voice at me! I am your father and I was just doing what was best." He said with his tone raising too.

"No, what would have been best is if you stayed out of my business!" I yelled as I clicked the big red button on my touchscreen.

Wow, no wonder Niall called me a Daddy's girl. Now I have nobody. I checked the contacts on my screen until I found my last option.

"so, thanks for coming." I said sniffing as I invited him in.

"no problem Allie anything for you. I know your probably going through a lot." I hugged him, just being in a long need of one.

"so what's going on?" Collin asked patting my back. "Well pretty much everyone is mad at me for going out with-" I paused and sighed. "Zach, and I don't really know about Niall, but I haven't talked to him. My dad sent all of them a letter before I moved here and gave them jobs to take care of me. I mean, I know that he wanted to make sure that nothing bad happened to me, but I'm 18."

"He just cares about you." He told me. "Yes, I know but he told them everything about me and what not to do like I was a pet!" He smirked a little. "Okay, I'm not saying he was right to do that, but he had good intentions." He was right though. I'm still a little mad that he would do that, but yeah he was trying to do good.

"So about the Zach thing..." He trailed his words and then continued. "I don't think your really dating him. Am I right?" I huffed slumping back in my seat. Maybe I could tell him if he swears not to say anything to anyone. "Don't tell, please?" I said under my breath.

"I promise."

"so how did you know?" I asked.

"How could you not know. Anybody that personally knows you should know you're crazy about Niall." He said. "Yeah, I wish it was that obvious for everyone else. We were forced to date and I told them no, but Zach told the media that we were dating. Now everyone is mad at me, and I just don't know what to do. Apparently Niall is upset but I don't know why, if he wanted to be with me then he always could have."

"He is crazy for you too Allie! It is right there. You know when I saw you in the mall that day and thought you were so beautiful and then Niall glanced back at me and caught me staring at you." Then he laughed. " Niall gave me the dirtiest look ever so then I thought you two were dating by the way you guys were looking at each other. Then I found out by Louis that you were single and honestly from that moment on I was just trying to...you know.... But then I got to know you better and I wanted to date you, which I'm usually not the type to date and then I really watched you one day with him. The way you look at one another. It's like you two are the only people left on the planet. I admired both of you together and I told myself to back away and just be your friend."

I never really looked at it that way or realized it. The hell with this record deal I'm going to find Niall and when I do I'm going to explain. I need to explain this whole mess because I owe it to him.

That's what you do when you love someone... You sacrifice everything you have to give, hoping you get more in return then you had in store.
