Addison made the drive to her house, she had been crying so much that she her head felt empty and like it was full if just air. As she pulled up, she sat outside and wondered how she would explain the bruises up and down her thighs to Amelia. "how can i even look her in the eyes right now",  Addison thought.

She walked to her front door, as her legs had already started getting their feeling back. She unlocked her front door an entered quietly, and to her surprise, there was Amelia standing in the kitchen fixing a cup of tea. They locked eyes, and Addison immediately put her head down. She had hoped to get in without being seen.

Amelia examined Addison's body from the place in the kitchen, in disbelief of what she was looking at.

"what happened, Addie?!", she asked, walking towards her.

"nothing", Addison replied as she started up the stairs to her bedroom. Amelia followed, not letting Addison walk away in a state like that.

Addison went straight to her bed and laid down in a fetal position. "i think im gonna go take a shower", she said.

"how about we go to the hospital first, let them make sure youre okay", Amelia suggested, knowing the truth without it needing to be said.

"NO!", Addison yelled, "Im fine". She got up and ran into the bathroom and locked the door behind her. She started the shower, and looked at her battered body in the mirror as it filled with steam. Amelia knew Addison needed a doctor, but she didnt want to pressure her and end up scaring her more than she clearly already was. She walked back down to the kitchen to make another cup of tea for her and Addison.

Upstairs, Addie sat in the shower, head against her knees, just staring at the wall. The shock of it all set in. Which means that once it wore off, she would be a wreck. It was just a matter of time before it happened.

She got out the shower, went back into bedroom and put on long pajama pants and a baggy long sleeve T-shirt. she wanted every inch of skin covered. Amelia went up and met Addison in the bedroom, where she was laying in bed, still just staring at the wall. She handed her the cup of tea, and Addison sat up, they made a deep eye contact. "what happened?", Amelia asked softly, genuinely concerned. They werent just in laws, they were best friends.

"i dont want to talk about it", Addison answered, "thanks for the tea". she laid back down turned away from Amy, who just stared at Addison, she wasnt sure if she should touch her or not, so she didnt even risk it. She walked out and plopped into her bed, thinking about what she could to help. Addison had already taken a shower against advice, so a trip to the hospital was pointless. She decided to just be there to help, and when Addison was ready to talk, she would be there. She wouldnt pressure her.

The next morning, Addison awake after hardly sleeping at all and went downstairs. Her legs were sore again at this point, so it took a little longer than usual. "how are you feeling?", Amelia asked from the kitchen.

"have you talked to Derek?", Addie responded.

"i havent", Amelia answered, thinking that she was completely oblivious for not even thinking to call her brother the night before.

"Dont tell him anything if you do", Addison added.

"O-okay, are you su-" Amelia said before being cut off.

"Please" Addison looked at her with dull and lifeless eyes that were red and puffy from the tears, "dont say annything"

"i wont", Amelia ended the conversation.

Amelia was so heartbroken that she couldnt help Addison, who just walked back into her room.
