Our love story isn't like everyone else's, it wasn't love at first sight. It wasn't a fairytale. It wasn't happy go lucky type of thing. My love story is different-

********

It was summer of senior year, holy crap I'm gonna be a senior. Where did the time all go? I've always had it good, chill parents, never struggled with school, a good job. A car. I thought it was supposed to be hard.

Everyone's always told me I would struggle and it would be hard but looking back over the years, it's been easy. What were they talking about?

But I'm not mad nothing bad has ever really happened to me. Besides my grandma dying in the 8 grade. I've been pretty lucky with not struggling like everyone else.

"Lia, lia! Lia!" Avery snaps her fingers at me trying to get my attention. I snap out of my thoughts shaking my head confused how I got so deep.

"What are you thinking about?" She Asks lifting her sun glasses
We were laying by the pool tanning as it was only the 1 week into summer.

"Just how easy it's all been, like no major struggles and I'm already a senior. And that terrifies me. What if everything goes wrong this year? What if my life completely falls apart the year I need it not too?"

I switch sides now tanning my back but continue talking.

"It's just scary to think that so much could go on this year"

I watch Avery as she thinks through what I'm saying.

"Lia, don't freak yourself out. Besides what's gonna happen?"

I shrug my shoulders shaking off the terrible thought of my life falling apart this year.

I change the subject knowing I would be just fine. Everything will be fine. Right?
"So are you exited for the first senior party of the summer?" I ask smiling at her knowing we've always dreamed of this.

We've been to party's, a lot. Almost every Friday night. And they get crazy but I've herd senior parties are a whole new level of crazy. And I was pumped for it.

"Are you kidding? I've been counting down the days till summer" she laughs

Today was the day of the party. I get home from running errands the whole day and wait for Avery to get here so we can get ready together.

Finally I hear the front door open and then steps coming all the way up the big stairs up to my room and the rest of the upstairs.

My door flings open and we make eye contact and squeal in excitement.

I turn up my speaker and we start getting ready.

Avery flings open my closet door searching for something to wear.

"Ahh perfect"

I stand in my closet searching for my outfit, I grab a pair of high waisted jeans, a black Lacey crop top and some vans. It was simple but I liked it. I'm not the type to wear a tiny dress and heals.
