Masons POV

"What do you mean Jackson is staying with us?" I ask still standing up, "Sweetheart he needs somewhere to stay. And plus I'm going to be in the city more helping your brother renovate their house." Dad says, "So what you brought him here to babysit me?" I ask again; "No sweetheart you are babysitting him. Dad tells me, Jackson scoffs.

"Mason, listen if we could have it any other way we would. But right now; this is our best option. Can you please just help me out here?" Taylor says pleadingly, "For you, after what you got me today. I'll do anything." I tell him.

Jackson's POV

"So what exactly do you want me to do with him?" Mason asks to no one in particular really just looking for an answer.

"Chores. We want you to teach him. Teach him things like responsibility, loving and caring for things." Taylor finishes, but that makes me a bit angry.

So I stand up out of my chair and say, "Hold up. You expect me to work? You want me to go shovel horse shit, and make sure the pigs have mud?!" I yell;

"First off you asshole, we don't have pigs here. And second if you're lucky, you won't have to do stalls but if you keep up that attitude, I'll have you up by 4am until 10pm cleaning without a break. And if I have to make more of a mess than I will." Mason yells back at me. Damn this girl has an attitude.

Masons POV

Later that night Taylor comes in my room. "Hey champ." "Hi Tay— listen I'm really sorry about tonight at dinner. But that guy is just so stuck up, and full of himself. I don't understand why you think I can change that." I tell him; he looks at me "Because Mason. Do you remember that Appaloosa that was brought in a while ago? The one who they were going to put down if you couldn't do anything?" I nod my head, "Because everyone thought that horse was hopeless. A lost cause. But you. You Mason proved them all wrong. That horse ended up going to nationals. It may not have won, but it went there. And I know that if you can help psychotic horse, that wouldn't let anyone ride it, now go to nationals. I know that you can help that asshole next door change his attitude." Taylor finishes.

I lean over and put my arms around his neck. "Thank you." I whisper, he wraps his arms around my waste, "I love you Mason. And I believe in you." I nod my head again.

Taylor then stands up and makes his way over to the door. "Oh Tay, when are you guys leaving?" I ask him, "Tomorrow, and dads going to be coming with us. So you'll have about one week alone with Jackson to get to know him. And get under his skin." He tells me, laughing during the last part. I chuckle too.

"Ok well you guys better not leave without saying goodbye." I say. "Don't worry, we're staying for breakfast" Taylor says, "Of course you are." I laugh.

He shoots me a playful glare before walking out the door and shutting it. So a week with the devil alone. May the odds be ever in my favor.
