DARYL'S POV

We have been walking through the woods for the past four days now, heading to my uncles old hunting cabin. Its might be small, but it will do for the winter.

For a while there we were doing good at the prison. But as we know if it seams to good to be true it probably is.

We ended up having trouble with some guy named the Governor. He was a real prick.

He decided that if he couldn't have the prison then no one should. So his ass destroyed what was becoming our home.

Our once large group is now back down to only bout a dozen.

When the prison went we were all pretty clueless about what to do. Were we just gonna travel from place to place again like last time before Judith was born? We needed some where safe and secluded from out siders. It was at that time that Merle had the brilliant idea to head to our uncles old hunting cabin.

It was back in the woods, in the southern part of Tennessee. So it was fairly secluded. We didn't think it would be easily found.

So we have traveled for the last three weeks, slowly but surly making our way to the cabin.

We should arrive some time today, and then we can have ourselves a nice rest.

But once again lady luck was not on our side.

When we got to the sight of the cabin, all that remained was a pile of fallen timbers, and crumbling walls caving in on themselves.

Damn this is just fucking great, now what are we to do. We are all tired and hungry.

One by one everyone stated their bitching.

It's been years since anyone's been up here, how were we suppose to know that it was caving in. I knew it needed little repairs here and there but that was it. It wasn't this damn bad.

Just as everyone was arguing Maggie started yelling and pointing at me and Merle, " This is all your fault, you've killed us all. What are we suppose to do now?"

At her yelling little Judith began to cry. Who knows what her cry will attract. I wanted to be prepared just in case.

I began scanning the ridge line, while the others argued with one another. That's when I spotted a lone figure stepping out of the thick tree line, right on the ridge into view of everyone.

Looking up, I can just barley make out this guy up on the ridge.

I motioned for the others to quiet down, when they looked to me, all I did was point to the ridge, where the man is standing.

We wait to see what this guy is gonna do.

After a few minutes, the guy disappears from sight back into the tree line. We wait a few minutes, all the while giving each other looks, basically saying stay on your toes.

Not ten minutes later, the guy appears less then a dozen yards from us emerging from the tree line.

As he approached, I noticed he was of slight build, but strong enough to pack a ten point buck slung across his back.

He wasn't wearing normal clothes. His shirt and pants was made of hides, tanned into a soft almost a butter color, just a little darker.

His hair was long, black, almost a blue black color, reaching his waist. His hair hung partly blocking the view of the right side of his face.

As he slowly grew closer, I could see large scars going from the right to the left side of his face, and down his neck.

He didn't speak, just stood there near us, looking us over one by one.

"Who are you?" demanded Rick.

"Do you have a group?" asked Glenn.

"Speak up asshole, before I kick your ass." Yelled Merle.

But still no response, that is until LittleAssKicker started crying.  Beth was trying her best to get her to clam down, but it was no use, we all know she is cold and hungry.

The guy just kept staring at Beth and the baby, still not making a sound or making a move. I could tell what he was doing, he was assessing all of us, just making it look like he was focused on them.

The guy started to reach for something behind him, we all raised our weapons watching, and waiting to see what he's gonna do.

Slowly he pulled out a small bungle and tossed it at my feet. Picking it up, I shook it out, discovering a small fur like blanket.

Looking at him, I raised a brow, wondering what this is for. He just nods towards Beth and the baby.

That's when I understand he meant for me to cover the baby up with it.  Handing it behind me to Merle, to pass it on to Beth.

Once again the guy was reaching for something, he dug in the small bag at his hip. Gradually he pulled out chunks of what must have been meat. Looking closely I realized it was jerky. He handed that to me and motioned to Carl and Sophia.

Out the corner of my eye, I watched Beth wrap Judith up, slowly she started to calm down, with only little whimpers every now and then as she drifted off to sleep in her new found warmth.

The guy didn't say a thing, just jerked his head up the ridge, and slowly started the trek up the path. After a few steps he looked back waiting for us. Guess he wants up to follow him.

One by one we follow this strange man, hope he's not leading us into a trap. If so I'm gonna kick his ass.
