*Lily's POV*
I cautiously took Masons hand and slowly straightened out of my cowering position. Mason let out a sigh of relief as I laced my fingers with his. The walk back to the pack house was silent yet comfortable.
"Your wolf is beautiful Lily." I peeked through my curtain of hair to subtly look at Mason, but he was already looking at me. I blushed and looked away, causing Mason to chuckle.
"Thank you Alpha." A growl rippled through Mason's chest and I immediately released his hand and cowered away from him.
"No! No, I'm sorry! I'm sorry!" I whimpered as I lifted my hands to protect my face. My eyes shut tight, hoping his torture would be quick.
When I felt no pain I slowly opened my eyes and dropped my hands to my sides. Mason stood in front of me, his face was twisted into confusion and his eyes held pain. He held his hand out for mine again and I responded quickly. However, Mason knocked my knees out from behind me and carried my bridal style back to the pack house. I squealed in surprise as Mason started to run as the clouds above let out little droplets of rain.
We safely made it to the pack house only a little bit wet from the rain. Mason carefully let my feet back on the ground and I gave him a soft smile in return. However, whilst looking at Mason, I didn't realise that we were I'm the company of many others. My head snapped to the right which seemed to be the living room which was occupied by many pack members, men, woman and children. Many lustful gazes were sent my way from the unmated wolves, which had me cowering behind Mason's body. He sensed my fear and looked around for danger, when his gaze fell on the lusting wolves, I felt his body begin to shake. I placed a comforting hand on the space between his shoulder blades which calmed his wolf down.
"I-It's o-okay Ma-Mason." I whispered in his ear as his rage began to wear away.
"No it's not. They're making you scared and it will not be accepted." Mason whispered calmly back to me, before squaring his shoulders and walking up to the unmated males.
