~Hey guys! This is the first chapter of my first book in the making x) Just please keep an open mind and keep reading, this is my first published one I'm sharing xD Hope you enjoy.

I fell down on my bed with a relieved sigh. Everything of mine was more or less unpacked, all I had were a few more boxes of CDs and other items and I'd be done, I smiled. A fresh breeze rolled in through my window and roamed all around my room and the smell of fresh air and pinecones filled my nostrils, I smiled. If there was one thing about this place that I liked it was the peacefulness and the smell of pinecones. I looked around my room and got up to light some of the candles that I placed here and there around my room, on my dresser and some on my bookshelves, one on my nightstand. In the mirror above my dresser I caught my reflection, a pink cheeked girl with dark green eyes and wild blond hair stared back at me.

"ASH!" I heard a bellow outside my bedroom window and froze. I knew that voice anywhere and a smile spread across my face. Not even a minute later I heard the front door bang open and heavy footsteps jogging up the stairs. "Come out, come out wherever you are!" My cousin's deep voice sang as he threw open my bedroom door.

I put my hands on my hips and surveyed him. He was taller since the last time I saw him, and the short sleeved black button up shirt he had on showed how muscular he'd gotten over the past three years. Chase's tell tale dark Mohawk was still present, the tips dyed a odd color green that suited him. Not that it would stay long, he always changed the color quickly after he got bored of the current one. His light blue eyes were full of mischief as always. "Hasn't anyone broken you out of your no knocking before entering problem yet?" I asked with my hands on my hips, mock glaring at my favorite childhood cousin.

"C'mere! I haven't seen my favorite cousin in ages!" He swooped me up in a hug that made me gasp for breath.

"Chase... can't... breath!" I wheezed and pushed against him to break free. My back cracked a little, it was too early to decide if that was good or not.

He grinned and put me down. "Er, sorry, don't have a grip on my strength I guess." I rolled my eyes and noticed two people lingering in my hallway.

"Hello," I spoke out to them and waved. One was a taller silhouette and obviously male, the other was a shorter, slimmer female.

Chase turned around and motioned them in my room muttering about no trust and stubbornness. The taller figure was indeed a male, a guy with spiky red hair and wary light green eyes. He was as tall as Chase was, a good 5 foot ten and a little bit leaner, the white shirt show cased his long arms. Blue jeans covered his legs down to the almost same black boots Chase always sported since I could remember. The petite girl net to the newcomer had long curly red hair and the same light green eyes the boy had; hers were alight with excitement and curiosity though. She had on leggings and a long dressy black shirt with converse to top it off.

"This is Ryan and Paige Falls, Ryan and Paige, this is obviously Ash." He introduced us and went over to my bed and plopped down on it, totally messing up my covers in the process.

I held out my hand to Ryan and Paige and shook theirs. "Hello, nice to meet you and please don't believe anything my cousin has said about me." I smiled and heard Chase chuckle. They murmured hellos, I noticed Ryan's hand lingered on mine a little longer than necessary while his bright green eyes studied my face.

"It's nice to finally meet Chase's old partner in crime." Paige dimpled at me and cast a glance at Chase. I knew that look, it was a familiar one that was cast at my man whore of a cousin, it was either the adoring one or the pissed off glares. A part of me was glad to see things hadn't changed so much around here while I was gone.
