I was huffing around my room trying to find a decent outfit to wear to meet the leaders of a werewolf pack that happened to be my mate’s parents. I shot glares and dirty looks at Chase whenever I could while he lounged across my bed, laughing at me.

“This is your entire fault, you know,” I stated while going through my clothes rack.

He chuckled. “And how is that, dear cousin? You know, you should be happy having found your mate, every other wolf I know goes crazy for theirs.”

I groaned. “I’m not even a full werewolf! What are his parents going to think? And what the fuck do I wear!” I leaned against the door frame of my closet and took a deep breath to calm myself; my nerves were getting the best of me.

Chase sighed and got up to come over by me. He put his hands on my shoulders and looked into my eyes. “Calm down, and they will think that they are lucky as fuck to have such a strong future Luna, your hybrid blood does not matter in this situation, Craven has chosen you,” His eyes strayed into my closet and frowned. Moving away from me he scanned the clothes I had thrown around everywhere and picked out a few pieces of clothing. “Go change into these, do something with your face, and let’s go.”

I raised my eyebrows at the clothing I had in my hands. Dark blue skinny jeans, a black dress shirt that was made up of lace all in the back, a shirt designed to show off skin. He rolled his eyes. “Have I ever steered you wrong?” He questioned. I raised my eyebrows up more and cracked a smirk. I could think of dozens of times he steered me wrong.

“Fine! Forget about those though, now go change, I’ll be waiting in my truck, hurry on little Luna.” He winked and dodged my aimed hits at him. Grumbling I went down the hall and changed into the outfit, I added black converse sneakers with spikes on them to the outfit and nodded in approval, it suited me. I grabbed some hair paste and ran it through my hair to give it the wild tousled look and outlined my dark green eyes in soft black eyeliner. My eyelashes were already so long and dark that I decided mascara wasn’t needed, with one last worried glance at my reflection in the mirror; I took off down the stairs and to Chase’s truck.

Johnny and Leslie disappeared, I suspected they ran off into the woods and shifted. Chase’s black Ford truck sat with the engine already roaring and heavy metal music blaring out the speakers. I climbed in and slammed the door behind me and turned his music down, he frowned at me in disapproval.

“What did you do that for?” Chase complained and pulled away from my house.

“So I could think,” I grumbled and sulked back into the leather seat. I had to admit, I was nervous as hell to meet the Alpha werewolf and his mate. What if they didn’t like me? I wasn’t even a purebred wolf…

Chase gunned his truck down the road and a smile formed on my lips at the speed we were going. “Will you stop? I can smell your emotions, Ash,” He complained and turned up the music a bit more. “Besides the urge to get away from you because of Alpha junior’s mark on you, I can smell your fear and anxiety, chillax already.”

I frowned and kicked my legs up to rest them on the dashboard. “Does that last forever? You know the whole impulse to stay away from me from the bite?” I questioned in curiosity.

Chase shook his head and ran a hand through his hair that was wind ruffled from his open window. “No, but the urge to get the hell away from you lasts until you have officially mated with your mate,” I shivered at that thought and Chase chuckled teasingly. “After that, you are just more marked, any wolf that comes across you will know that you belong to him, and he you when you finally get to mark him.” I smiled at that thought, the Alpha being claimed, how would he like it?
