Patrick's POV

Pete and Jasey both disappeared in a bright flash of light. In that same moment, I felt something tug me backwards and I began to fall. But instead of landing on the grass, I kept falling into nothingness. The park around me began to fade into darkness and the ground swallowed me in. I kept falling for an eternity, calling put for help even though I knew it was useless.

Suddenly, there was a loud THUD and I shot up in alarm. I was back in Tessa's apartment, awake.

"What the?" I looked around. Pete was leaning on my shoulder, still out cold. I noticed Andy was missing, which got me worried a lot. What if he actually was dead and they had to hide his body?

My thought was soon cut off by a loud crash in the kitchen. "Hello?" I called out warily. Joe dashed into the room, his hair charred or smoldering in some places. His face and clothes were both covered in ash.

"Patrick?" He remarked. "How are you awake? Did it get you too?"

"Me too?" I repeated. "Joe, what's going on? Where's Tessa?"

"She's down at the hospital. There was a bit of an issue, but we handled it." He explained quickly. "Andy's there too."

"Wait, I thought Andy was dead?"

Joe shook his head. "Nope, he was attacked and pulled out if Jasey's consciousness. He's with her down at the hospital."

That was a relief. "Good. What happened to you?"

He looked around as if he was being watched. "I was able to tap into Jasey's consciousness, but only for a few short moments. The demon is getting too strong. She has to remember soon, or else it may be too late."

I shook my head. "No. She has her memories back. She and Pete were taken by this bright light and then I woke up here." Suddenly, there was a loud scream from behind us. I spun back around to see that Pete was now awake too. His eyes were wide with shock as he stared at me.

"What the hell?" He looked around. "What's going on? What happened?"

"From the looks of it, you were attacked too." Joe answered.

"Well you need to send me back in there!" He exclaimed. "Jasey's with Yellow-Eyes. This time he's out for blood."

"No way Pete. I could kill both her and you if the spell isn't done perfectly. Attempting to do that amount of magic on her alone twice would be enough to kill her, even if the spell is done correctly. This is one battle she is going to have to fight on her own. We've seen how powerful Jasey is. And if what Patrick said is true and she's back to her old self, that demon doesn't stand a chance." Joe reassured him. "I've seen how powerful she is, she'll be just fine."

I was hoping he was right. Jasey was finally back, and I didn't want to lose her ever again to a monster like that.

Suddenly, Joe vanished into thin air right in front of us. Probably another one of his ghost tricks.

"Joe!" Pete and I called out. There was no response. We called out and this time there was a loud crash followed by the curly-haired Guardian.

"You called?" He looked up at us, the sass dripping in his voice.

"What was all that?" I asked.

Joe scrambled to his feet and brushed off some residual soot from his black leather jacket. "I got a message from Monica and Andy. I can give you the good news or the bad news first."

"The good news first." Pete and I said at the same time.

"Jasey's awake." He said.

"That's great!" I exclaimed.

"But what's the bad news?" Pete asked immediately after me.

"Love knows. She's sent someone out to kill her."
