Jasey's POV
The first thing I remembered was my head throbbing in pain. Voices circled around me as I let out a low groan. My eyes slowly opened to the blinding lights beaming down on my. I used my arm to shield myself until I could adjust to the lights.
"Jasey!" A familiar voice called out next to me. I rolled over to my side to see Andy in the seat next to my bed.
"Ughhhh, Andy?" I groaned, my voice was hoarse and raspy. I looked around and saw Monica and Tessa both standing in the doorway and staring at me in shock and Luke was pacing back and forth at the foot of my bed, having a total existential crisis. "Hey," I grumbled, propping myself up in my bed. "Where's Patrick?"
"He's at my place." Tessa answered, dashing to my side and encasing me in a death-grip hug. "Thank god you're alright."
I laughed. "Can't.......breathe." I gasped for air.
She quickly peeled off me. "Sorry." She grinned. "I'll go get a nurse." Tessa quickly dashed out of the room, followed be Monica, leaving me with Andy and Luke.
All three of us could feel the awkward in the air. I haven't spoke to Luke in nearly seven years, and now here he was.
"Hey Luke." I broke the silence.
"Hey Jasey." He replied and stopped pacing. "You look-"
"Different? Weird? Like a freak?" I finished his sentence.
"I was actually going to say amazing." He corrected me. "You do look different, but a good different."
"Thanks, but I have to ask. What are you doing here?" I asked.
"It's a long story." He looked down and scratched the back of his neck.
"He was on the investigation team that was looking into our disappearance." Andy explained. "Love sent someone after you, he stayed here and kept guard outside your room."
I looked back to Luke skeptically. "Really?"
He nodded. "They sent us a death threat for you. By the time Andy and Monica got here, it was almost too late." He pointed to the window across from Andy, which was now open. Both Andy and Luke went white as a sheet.
"Where'd she go?!" Luke exclaimed.
"I have no clue!" Andy was freaking out.
"Guys?" I started to get worried. "What's going on? Who are you tal-"
I was cut off by a knife being pressed to my throat.
"One false move, and it's bye bye." A voice growled in my ear. I darted my eyes around to see my attacker, but I couldn't see them.
Luke whipped out his gun faster than I ever could have. "Let her go Caitlin." He snapped.
"How'd you get out of those cuffs?" Andy growled.
"Oh boys," Caitlin mocked them in a syrupy sweet voice. "Did you two really think that Jasey was the only one with supernatural powers? How else do you think we were able to possess Patrick?"
Andy's face turned red. "That was you?!" He snapped. He leapt across the bed, snatched the blade out of Caitlin's hand and threw her up onto the wall. He was furious and it was obvious all over his face. "My best friend is dead." Andy snarled. "Joe is dead and I will never see him again. And it's all because of you?!"
Caitlin didn't react. She just stood there, pressed to the wall and completely unarmed. "You can't stop us." She laughed maniacally. "We will silence the noise. Music will fall. There will be no hope l-" She was suddenly cut off by a loud *CRACK* which came from Andy slamming the hilt of the knife into her forehead. She slumped to the floor in an unconscious heap.
I sat there in surprise. "Wow, Hurley." I said. "What's gotten into you lately?"
Before he could answer, someone else called out my name. "Jasey?"
I spun around to find Patrick standing in the doorway. A smile spread itself across my face at the sight of him.
"Hey Patrick."
His whole face lit up with excitement. "You're okay!" He exclaimed, rushing over to my bed. He looked over and saw Andy standing over a now unconscious Caitlin. "What happened to her?"
"She's the witch that possessed you." Andy explained. "She tried to kill Jasey, twice."
"Oh." He looked down. "Joe warned us about that. Pete and I came as fast as we could."
"Where is he?" I wondered.
As soon as I asked, my question was answered. "Right here." He stood in the doorway. "Hey Riddell."
"Hello Wentz." I laughed.
He smiled. "Good to see you're okay and back to your old self."
"Thanks." I nodded. "It's good to be back."
And for once, everything felt okay.
