Mark woke up to the green haired Irish man snuggled against his chest. He smiled recalling the events of last night. He loved Jack, but never in a million years would he think that Jack loved him back. Finally he could call Jack his. But he wasn't completely satisfied yet. There was still unknown danger in the academy. He would get to the bottom of this.
A sleep filled voice called out for Mark. "Mm, What time is it?" Mark pushed his thoughts aside and chuckled. "Around 8:00, Mornin' sleeping beauty." "Just look at my beauty!" Jack stood on the bed and pretended to whip his short hair. "Oh just beautiful my princess!" Mark faked a gasp. The door opened and Felix fell in. "Aw shit. You said the door wasn't open, Cry!" Jack nearly fell off the bed, but thankfully Mark pulled him in. Mark spoke in an annoyed voice. "Felix! ever heard of knocking?" Felix laughed and rubbed the back of his neck. "But I ship it.."
"OUT!" Jack shoved Felix out of the door.

After everyone finished eating breakfast and getting ready, it was time to talk to Ethan. It didn't take much effort to find him, Ethan's blue hair made him stand out. Waving, Ethan waited for everyone to walk over. "The professor is waiting outside for the remaining people to finish the tournament." Ethan pointed to Mark and Tyler. "You two will be the only ones participating, It's up to Cry and Felix to keep watch for Jack."
Cry and Felix looked at each other and nodded. Mark on the other hand sighed, he wanted more than anything to be there to watch Jack. But he had to finish the tournament. He found it funny, not too long ago he wanted to finish this tournament. He thought the tournament was something terrifying, but not anymore.
A familiar voice called out to Mark and Tyler. Marzia jogged up to them and and motioned for them to hurry up. "It's starting!" She yelled. "Good luck , Jack." And she ran off. Mark lingered behind for a moment. He was debating on kissing Jack one last time. He wanted to, but he knew if he did he would long for more. So instead, Mark quickly hugged him. "Careful." he whispered. And Mark followed Tyler and Marzia.
Once outside Mark watched the current battle in progress. He didn't watch for long when he saw his opponent. Lynn Smith. Recalling his fight with her, Mark thought of strategy. He remembered that she was not the slightest bit agile, But her healing made up for every hit she took.
"Thinking about her?" Tyler asked casually. Mark's eyebrows furrowed, he didn't bother replying. "Look, I'm not the best at motivating. But if you fight with purpose, you can do anything." Tyler kept his emotionless face on. Mark wanted to joke that maybe his face got stuck, but he decided against it. "Who do you fight for, Tyler?" Mark couldn't help but wonder. I mean, hell, the guy rarely smiled. Tyler hummed in thought. "My purpose would be for all of you guys."
Mark couldn't help but laugh now. "Sounds cliché." Tyler raised his eyebrows. "Your purpose is fighting for Jack, right?" Mark scoffed. "Touché" Marzia elbowed Mark. "It's your turn, go win this!" Wincing from pain, Mark nodded and walked onto the field. Behind him, Mark heard Marzia whisper for Tyler to get on the other field.
Walking with his fists clenched, Mark saw Lynn. She had that same look on her face, like she was some teenager who knew a secret about you. "Hello my pink balled friend." Lynn walked closer to Mark. "So we fight again." Mark and Lynn were now circling each other. "How is your friend? I guess he couldn't handle the pressure of the tournament," Lynn smiled.
"He is none of your concern." Mark charged up his plasma balls. "Right, you're my only concern now!" Lynn lunged at Mark. Her green smoke wrapped around his legs. Mark grunted, shooting his plasma balls to free himself. Mark hurled himself at Lynn, he aimed his plasma straight for her hands. "Agh, Shit!" Lynn sent her green smoke to Mark's arms.
It was a fight between strength. Mark had almost made it, it was just that damn smoke intercepting. With all his might, Mark removed his hand from the smoke and sent plasma shards at Lynn. Unable to doge them, Lynn took the hit. She winced in pain, but quickly healed herself.
Mark panted thinking frantically. Something was different from the last time they fought. Lynn still didn't have much agility, but she was doing something different. And it made Mark angry beyond belief that he couldn't figure it out.
Mark almost didn't notice Lynn send another smoke tendril to his left, Dodging right Mark made more plasma shards. Until he realised he had been played, laughing like a maniac Lynn suddenly sent the green smoke to the right. Straight into Mark's mouth.
Coughing, Mark remembered last time. He couldn't breathe in whatever was in that smoke. Mark thought harder than he ever had before. What was she doing? Lynn created another smoke tendril, aimed for Mark's arm. Mark intercepted her attack with his plasma shards. It didn't make sense, why keep aiming for the arms? That's not a common weak spot. And then it hit Mark.
Lynn was aware of her weakness. That's why she kept aiming for Mark's arms. If she could lower her opponents agility, then that would make her stronger. Mark saw the tendril of smoke coming for his arms, but he didn't do anything.
"Giving up pink boy?" Lynn laughed. Mark looked at the smoke, it was close.
'Not yet' he thought.
The tendril was almost touching his arms.
'Not yet...'
The moment before the smoke touched him, Mark used his plasma balls to lift him in the air. Once he was above Lynn, he made a huge plasma ball above her. Lynn smirked. "You know I can just pop your little ball, right?" Lynn waved the smoke over to Mark's plasma ball. As it touched, Mark turned the plasma ball into plasma shards.
In an instant Lynn had hundreds of shards directed on her. Mark used that chance to throw one more plasma ball at her. Eyes widening, Lynn looked up. "N-no." Was all she muttered before shards of plasma struck her. Just like her smoke was Mark's weakness, Mark's plasma was her weakness. Lynn fell to the ground, cheers erupted everywhere. Mark smiled, he had won his match.
Walking back to the sidelines he saw Marzia and Tyler. Marzia smiled and high fived Mark. "I take it you won your match too,Tyler?" Mark looked at Tyler and practically smirked. "You know it." Tyler replied.
Suddenly Cry and Felix came running out onto the fields. They had a look a terror in their eyes. "Cry, Felix?" Marzia asked in confusion. "Where is Jack?" "The professor," Cry started. "Was he out here during the matches?" And all of Mark's enthusiasm drained. He had only just now realized that the professor was never out here. "That means.." Mark paled. "That the professor is with-"
Explosions came from within the academy.
