Chapter 4

155 7 3

"Welcome to Sector 3." Marzia half-heartedly smiled, pointing to a bunch of tall buildings.

From what Jack could see, he was not ready for Sector 3. The place was huge , how would he remember his way back?

"Is there anything to help us get back here?" Tyler asked, apparently he had the same worry. Marzia on the other hand shrugged, "Not like this extremely concealed sign would help." Marzia took a few steps to her left.  Jack saw a holographic 3 hovering above the ground; his eyes widened, how did he not see that? Suddenly Jack chuckled, He didn't fail to see an embarrassed Tyler.

"Well," Marzia cleared her throat. "I might as well explain the other sectors, Sector 2 is one of our comrades, they are known for their intelligence. Probably the smartest sector in Global.
Sector 5 is our greatest competition, they rely solely on brute force.   Sector 1, you might as well consider them a duplicate of Sector 5."

Jack wanted to ask a few questions, but he had a feeling Marzia wanted to say more.

Marzia had a clouded look in her eyes, it was almost as if she were fighting her emotions. "And Sector 6, you don't have to worry about them."

"Why not?" Felix spoke up, and Jack could sense everyone face-palming. Did it look like Marzia wanted to talk about it? Hell to the no.

"It's nothing you need to be concerned about Felix." Marzia's clouded look intensified, But it seemingly did nothing to phase Felix. "How can we trust you? You seem to be hiding something." Felix continued edging Marzia on.

"Don't Felix," Cry put his arm out between them. "Are you just scared?" Felix pushed Cry's hand aside. Jack didn't think he could watch much longer, it was like the calm before the storm. "Do not  test me Felix, You are forgetting who's your trainer." Marzia stared at Felix with a deadly glare, her tone was pure venom.

Jack couldn't help it anymore, he stood between the two. "Marzia, I understand if you don't want to tell something you don't want to." Jack braced himself for her outburst. But none came, instead Marzia sighed. "They were assigned a mission in the Forbidden forest, years passed and they have not returned. We can only assume they're-  dead." The anger in Marzia's voice slowly faded.

Jack flinched at the cruel word. Death was definitely one of Jack's least favorite things, he understood being hurt, or missing. But death was something that you couldn't come back from. There was uncomfortable silence, and Jack was thankful for that.

Mark was first to break  the silence.  "The forbidden forest is not something good is it?" His coffee brown eyes showed a huge amount of sadness and worry.

Instead of answering Mark's question, Marzia turned away from everyone's sight. "Dismissed. Dorms are in the first building on the left." And just like that, Marzia left.

"Really Felix? You just had to-" Cry stopped when he saw Felix. He was staring into the ground. Tyler quickly cut in."Guys, let's just get inside. It's late."

No one said a word as they walked inside the building.

A man at the front desk waved,  He had black hair that flopped over to the side, Kind of like Mark's floof, but smaller. He also had two black earrings on his ears. "Hey, I'm Nathan, but call me Nate." He walked  from his desk and waved again.

"You're Jack, Cry, Tyler, Mark, And Felix, Am I correct?" Nate smiled at the shocked look on everyone's faces. "How did you-" Jack got interrupted by Mark.
"Wow that's cool !"

Nate's face seemed to relax, Jack had no idea why he was so tense in the first place.  "Thanks my power is mind reading." He rubbed the back of his neck and then jumped. "Oh!" he yelled startling them all. "I was supposed to get you all a room. " He ran back to his desk and fumbled with many keys.

"Here," Nate said,  Handing Cry a key labeled 903. "The elevator is beside you." He pointed to Tyler's left. "Thanks." Tyler nodded.

"No problem, See ya. " Nate replied giving a small smile.

Stepping into the elevator, Something occurred to Jack. The E team was one team, So does that mean there are other teams? Like A team, S team, V team, etc.

The elevator ding interrupted Jack's thoughts.

"Oh how convenient, I do love rooms by elevators." Felix sighed with sarcasm.
"If I have to hear that annoying ding in my ears all night.. I swear.." Mark furrowed his brows.

Cry went ahead, taking out the key and  unlocking the door. When Cry opened the door Jack felt his heart stop.  It was gamer heaven.

"Hell yeah!" Jack vaulted over a red couch that was in their new living room. Smiling, Jack picked up a bunch of headsets and games. Eyes sparkling, Jack turned motioned to some computers in the room.
"Gmod anyone?"

After about an hour of eating doritos, pizza, and nachos, Everyone decided to go to bed.

Jack was finishing drying his hair when he heard a panicked voice.  "There are 2 double beds and one single bed!"

Jack walked out of the bathroom to see Mark and Tyler fighting over the single bed. "I called it!" Tyler yelled, running off to the bedroom.

Mark and Jack sighed, Whilst  Cry and Felix didn't seem upset at all. "We don't mind sharing a bed, do we Cry?" Felix smiled, but he sighed when Cry didn't answer him. "Well that settles it for us, G'night." Felix and Cry walked to their bedroom.

Now Mark and Jack were alone.

And Jack for some reason felt very uncomfortable "Uh, I guess we kinda have to sleep with each other." Jack then went very red. God, he was fucking things up. "I-I meant share a bed! that sounded weird!" Jack covered his face with his hands, he was ready to jump out of a window.

"I honestly don't mind what you first said." Mark whispered into Jack's ear, making him jump.  "Shut up you big doofus!" Jack's cheeks were flaming red now, he was feeling so awkward. But  at the same time curious, Was Mark joking about what he said? Or was he serious?

"BUT I THOUGHT YOU LOVED ME JACK~!" Mark ran after Jack.

"CAN YOU GUYS PLEASE GO TO FUCKING SLEEP!?" Felix yelled from in his bedroom

Yeah, Mark had to be joking.
