Lia and Erik ran into the kitchen. Lia threw open the fridge door and looked through it. "Hmmm...Let's see here..."

"Hey! You two!" One of the maids yelled.

Erik rolled his eyes and showed her the pass that they had. "See? Xaden said we could!" He pointed at the pass.

The maid blinked with surprise. "Oh! You must be Master Xaden's guests!" He bent forward into a bow. "I'm terribly sorry. Please, eat to your heart's content." She backed away slowly.

Erik let out a smirk of satisfaction before shoving the pass back into his pocket, then looking through the cupboards. "Hey Look!" He exclaimed, taking a box out. "Cookies!"

Lia closed the fridge door and snatched the box from his hand. "Awesome! TO THE TABLE!!!" She ran to the long, rich, golden table and sat down in one of the golden chairs. As Erik sat down beside her, she poured some cookies into the table. As she and Erik munched on them, Lia looked over at the fridge. She squinted at it suspiciously. "Hey Drummer Boy, go read what that note says on the fridge."

Erik gulped and stood up, walking over to the fridge. He squinted hard at the note on the fridge, trying to read. it. 'This is how I die.....' He thought to himself. "Um er...H....E.....?"

Lia sighed and bounced over to him. "Move it." She pushed him away and looked at the note. "Really Drummer Boy? There is no 'H' or 'E' at the beginning of this note. It says. "Be sure to use a plate." "

Erik scratched the back of his head nervously. "Oops...Er, sorry."

Lia placed her hands on her hips with annoyance toward Erik. "Wow. You couldn't read that? Pathetic." She scoffed at him before sitting back at the table. "Well whatever. Come on! Cookies for all!"

Erik nervously pushed his hair back before joining her.

Along the way to Xaden's Parents' room, he suddenly began to run. Arian and Ian exchanged glances, then began to run along behind him. Arian had to avoid lots of guards because Xaden apparently didn't care if they were walking down the hall. He just shoved them out of his way as he trotted along without a care in the world...Except the care of his mother.

Finally, they reached the end of the hall, where Xaden threw open the large double doors to his parents' bedroom. When he burst inside, he frantically looked around, and that's when he saw his mother lying in her bed. Xaden rushed over to her and knelt down, looking at her pale face. "Mother!" He exclaimed. He took her hand, and Arian saw him shiver. She must be cold.

Xaden's father stood up quickly, staring at Xaden. "Xaden?! Son? Is that you? Or am I mistaken?!"

Xaden blinked once and looked up at his father. "Yes father, it's me." He acknowledged. "I came back, because Ian told me mother was ill....So I-"

His father held up his hand to stop Xaden. "Who is this?" He gestured toward Arian with his hand. Arian shuffled her feet nervously. She didn't like being in the center of attention too much.

Xaden smiled. "Father, that's Arian. She's my girlfriend."

His father gasped. He suddenly ran over to Xaden and fell to his knees. He grabbed ahold of Xaden's shoulders and shook them roughly. Xaden had to let go of his mother's hand so she wouldn't shake as well. "What?! I thought I told you, you must marry someone wealthy!"

Xaden stood up and slapped his father's hands away. He charged over to Arian and took her hand, squeezing it tight. "Father, I love her. I don't care if you tell me no, but I'm not going to date anyone else." He told his father firmly. "But forgive me for running off like that..." He added a bit more quietly. "You kept me trapped in this place for almost sixteen years. I needed to get out!"
