As they wandered into the crystal forest, the black mist was all over the place! Lia wrinkled her nose at all of it. But it didn't seem to bother Roxanne, who kept going. It took everyone great bravery to keep going and to follow Roxanne.

When they got to the Everlight, Lia was now coughing. Erik stood in front of her and said, "Lia and I will stay out here."

Lia coughed again. "It's over powering..."

Alex looked at her. "That's right....Lia is the element of Light. She really can't stand the Darkness can she?"

Lia shook her head. "Nope. Like I could probably clear it out, but I'm not going to even try..."

Arian coughed a bit as well. "I can't really breathe now. There's no telling what'll happen if I can down there to where the Everlight is..."

"I can stand it." Roxanne said. She faced the others. "I'm going to go down there. You all stay here." No one questioned her or complained, so Roxanne nodded at Walter who was worryingly looking at her, then she jumped down into the hole.

To others, they wouldn't be able to see anything. But to Roxanne, it was broad daylight. She saw Melantha standing right below what was left of the Everlight. She saw Roxanne, and gave her that creepy smile.

"I have been waiting for you, Roxanne." Melantha said. "But you've come in here alone...Are your friends too scared to come inside?"

Roxanne shrugged. "Probably. But they say they can't breathe with all your mist around here." She snickered and then crossed her arms. "So why don't you lower it some huh?"

"You should know that I cannot do that." Melantha said. She held out her hand toward Roxanne. "Because I only need you. Me and you are the same. So why can't you see that we belong together? You and me should be united! Who knows what power we will have when we work together? We could rule the whole universe."

Roxanne scoffed and rolled her eyes. She uncrossed her arms and said, "You idiot. You know full well that that's not your real goal." Melantha glared as Roxanne went on. "It was stupid to put all of your knowledge into my head."

"But you didn't tell them." Melantha pointed out.

Roxanne nodded. "You're right. I didn't."

"But why? Surely you would tell your friends all about my plan? Hmm?"

"You already know." Roxanne pointed out. She placed her hand on her hip and leaned on one foot. "If I do, you'll kill them."

"That's exactly right!" Melantha exclaimed. She held out her hand and darker mist appeared next to her. The mist formed into someone...And Roxanne recognized her as Arian. Arian yelped as she floated in the air, as if she was being held by something. "Now...If you want your friend to know, then go ahead. Tell her. I promise I won't kill her!"

Roxanne sighed and shook her head. "Imbecile."

"Roxanne!" Arian exclaimed, struggling to get away from the unknown force. "please! help!"

"Well, what do you say?" melantha asked. "Come with me, and I'll let your friend go."

Roxanne scoffed again. She chuckled a bit to herself, which made Melantha confused. "Wow. That's some trick." She said with another snicker. "If that was really Arian, then she would be dead by now. She said so herself, she can't breathe with all this mist, nor can she even see through it."

Arian suddenly vanished within the mist, leaving a shocked Melantha. "Very impressive." Melantha praised. "I'm surprised you could see right through it."

Roxanne examined her nails. "Well, let's just say I'm smarter than most people...Like Erik."

"Ah yes! Erik." Melantha said. "What would you do if I killed him hmm?"
