Fading out again. Feel the chemicals burn in my bloodstream. So tell me when it kicks in.

Draco's perspective

Dear mother,

Thanks for writing to me. I'm so sorry for not writing to you in 3 days - I know how lonely it gets at the manor alone. I miss you so, so much and I can't wait to see you again during the Easter holidays. I hope that you are having a good time without father's presence. Please remember that I love you and no matter how many times Lucius harms you, I will always be with you. Don't ever forget that when I get out of Hogwarts, I will pay for us to move away from dad, maybe even out of the country. We'll run away together, never to waste another thought on him again. I promise.

I've become friends with a girl, who I never thought I'd ever like. She's so amazing. She's kind, and sweet and helpful. I can't wait for you to meet her, I know you'd love her. She's made my life so much brighter, mother, it's absolutely amazing. I promise she'll make you forget about everything wrong in the world. I'll talk to her, I bet she's dying to meet you.

Love you lots, Draco X

I signed the card or with my custom smiley face drawing before sealing the envelope. I attached it to my black owl Agra Cadabra stroking her silky feathers and sending it off. I watched her beautiful black wings flapping into the distance, until she was just a dot in the morning sky, streaked with lines of pink and orange.

I walked out of the owlery, and went downstairs to breakfast. I was absolutely starving and had an awful craving for hash browns. I sat down at the Slytherin table, next to Blaise, who was looking quite despondent.

"What's up?" I said to him, taking a hash brown and biting into it. He simply gestured to Clarice and a Slytherin boy I didn't know. He seemed to be leaning in rather close, and her brown skin had a pink sheen to it.

"Look at him, stupid man whore. Why do you think, of all people, he had to pick my girlfriend?" he wined, like a toddler.

"Well... Um... I guess her skin's a nice colour... And I suppose she's a bit... filled out in a few spaces?" I answered, awkwardly.

"Not you as well..." said Blaise, through gritted teeth "So what if she's gotten boobs, Draco? I don't want her boobs, unlike that asshole over there,".

The Slytherin was now, whispering something in her ear, making her giggle and blush.

"Just call her, Blaise. Stop being such a Hufflepuff,"

"That's a bit prejudiced," he said to me

"Forget what I said, just call the damned girl," I snapped, rolling my eyes at his insolence "Or i'll do it for you," I warned.

"OK fine," he answered, stroppily "CLARICE!" he called out, louder than he should have. He stood up and walked over to her, putting a protective arm over her shoulders.

"Hiya. I see your talking to my girlfriend, over here," he dragged her away slightly.

"She's very pretty, isn't she? Mmmmm, yeah she is. But she's my girlfriend. YOU GOT THAT?" he added theateningly to the boy, who cowered away slightly. Clarice turned around and made eye contact with me. She rolled her eyes, smirking, winding a finger in a circle round by the side of her head, indicating Blaise had lost the plot slightly. Which he had. I couldn't help but snort. He dragged her, quite gently considering he was meant to be mad with her. As he sat down again, Clarice burst out laughing.
