Feels like we're on the edge right now
I wish that I could say I'm proud
I'm sorry that I let you down
Let you down
All these voices in my head get loud
I wish that I could shut them out
I'm sorry that I let you down

"STOP! PLEASE DON'T HURT HER!"

There was a pause, before I heard a small voice get out

"I love her..."

And I heard him, even through the pain, even through the cruciatus curse, even through the knives piercing my skin, even through my anger.

Even through my torture, I heard him.

Because he was the only real thing in this world.

The only thing that kept me alive.

Third Person

Suddenly, the pain of the cruciatus curse subsided as both female death eaters torturing Hermione pulled their wands away from her with one harsh jerk of their arms. Hermione inhaled and couldn't feel any physical pain anymore. But now that her punishment was over she could think straight. And she was sure she hated her thoughts

"Oh really?" said Lucius with an air of amusement in his voice, "Then I assume she must feel the same way for you, son?".

He looked at the weak, shivering girl with a raised eyebrow before grinning as if struck by a thought.

"Bella! Mrs Reyes! Get her on the chair!" he said in a clear, assertive voice. The two women responsible for her torture picked her up by her soft, delicate arms roughly, before hauling her to a huge chair in the middle of the room.

"Please! Please let me g -" she wailed, this whole time looking at Draco's face, grey and scared.

Her voice was cut of my a sharp sensation on my arm as if she had been touched with a red hot poker. She screeched loudly, but her high, chilling scream was cut off by Bellatrix pressing a blade to her neck.

"Stay silent and we might spare you death," she said, stooping lower and whispering in the vulnerable muggle born's ear. She felt tears of fear brim in her glazed eyes.

Bellatrix pushed the blade down slightly and drops of red blood appeared on the pale skin of her neck.

Lucius looked at Draco's terrified expression and Hermione felt a deep feeling of pain for him. She just wanted to get up out of the set and fling my arms around his neck and kiss away all of his doubt. Only wanted to tell him that she had forgiven him.

"So, Draco - as you said, we won't hurt her. You will," muttered Lucius his voice harsh even though it was muffled.

Draco stuttered out his response.

"Please - don't make me do this - please? Just leave her - please,"

His voice was hoarse and cracked. Hermione felt her chocolate brown eyes glaze over at his response.

"You don't want the dark lord to be dissapointed in you, now do you Draco?" murmered Lucius, gripping the back of his son's head.

"Please - please, father - don't tell him!" his words were cut off by a sharp smack to his arm. Hermione felt a another tear snake down her face and remembered how Draco had told her about his dad's abuse the night of their first kiss. Christmas Day.
