Emma came trotting down the stairs in her home, slightly agitated as she gripped her phone tightly. She could hear her sister speaking to her brother about loaning old family jewelry to the Lockwood's, just the thing she wanted to speak to her sister about.

"can you please call Mrs. Lockwood so she could stop calling me" she sighed out, pressing her phone to the dining table. Elena smiled lightly, "she keeps asking about when i'll bring that junk over and then continues to ask if Tyler will be escorting me to the party" Her face scrunched in distaste, the idea of her ex-friends taking her to some party where only adults could drink bothered her dearly.

Jeremy rolled his eyes, "it's not junk" her grumbled before leaving the room, Letting it be filled by the twins and their aunt Jenna.

Ignoring his comments, Elena spoke up, "you two haven't made up yet?" she questioned figuring the childhood best friends would've been back to normal in a matter of days. But, no, a whole week had passed and they haven't even glanced at each other.

In response to her sisters question, Emma rolled her eyes, "just call carol" she sighed before turning on her heels and marching back up to her room to spend her weekend sleeping in, like she had planned.

No one knew better then Emma, that all the good things happened in the cemetery, and by good, she meant bad. She and Vicky had a group of friends they'd meet up with to do nothing but get high. Emma would always make jokes about being closer to the dead and that'd they'd probably all die in the place they did nothing but laugh and let their sanity fade.

Though Emma would be the only one there, since Vicky decided to go to the founders party with Tyler, not listening to the gilbert girls warning.

So as the night set in and she found herself in a place full of people she didn't know, she let her head settle in the clouds. laughing, saying, and ranting about random things.

Though in the end her mind kept traveling back to the girl with the tight pony and well mannered, inexperienced  behavior. It bothered her how she could never know when the girl would pop up, or know anything other than the fact that she was homeschooled and her name was Lacey. It bothered her that she didn't have more control over the situation and any time she gained some, it was taken away by something or someone else. First Tyler pulling her out of the club to go home, then Vicky getting attacked, and then Vicky going missing the night of the comet. There was always something

In the past week one girl had clouded her mind, her name screaming in the back of her head, it bothered her so much, but she didn't show it. She never showed anything, but the fact that she didn't have a care in the world. It was safe to say that Emma Gilbert was and always will be Dysfunctional.
