The back to school bonfire was something that happened for high school kids only, the second night of the second day of school all the students gathered at the falls. Music blasting, alcohol present, dancing, smoking, kissing, basically everything Emma did over the summer, except it was in mystic falls and tonight was the one night she could get away with it.

Red solo cup in her hand she was listening to whatever Tyler was talking about with Vicky. They were flirting and luckily for them Matt was no where in sight. Well he was, but his direct attention was on Elena who was talking to Bonnie and looking around, probably for the new kid.

Emma downed the rest of liquid in her cup, "I'm still not drunk yet" she said with a frown, she was three cups in and felt perfectly fine.

Tyler rolled his eyes, "because you have the weak stuff" he was obviously drunk already, "the keg by the cars has the good stuff" Emma instantly smirked and made her way over to where he directed, with her gone Tyler gave a suggested look towards Vicky who grin before the both of them walked off towards the woods.

Humming Emma filled the red cup all the way up before taking a sip, the alcohol burned as it went down her throat, she pulled the cup back, "that's the good stuff" she mused before licking her lips and taking another large gulp as she walked away.

Though her movements haunted when she bumped into someone and her drink spilled all over her shirt. She automatically glared at the person, "watch it!" She snapped and grabbed at the wet cloth on her dress, a sigh left her knowing her too was ruined.

"S-sorry" the girl stuttered out, and Emma didn't so are her a glance, "I-i, uh, I was just trying to ask you something and I wasn't paying attention as I was getting my thoughts together and-"

"And I don't really care" Emma cut her off, finally looking back up at the girl in first to of her. Her blonde haired pinned up in a tight ponytail, blue eyes, and kissable lips, Emma instantly felt like the girl was familiar, but she couldn't out her finger on it, and do since she was too frustrated to even think about it, she stalked off with a huff, her party mood ruined like her shirt.

Emma watched her sister walk with the new kids, Stefan. She had to admit he was attractive, but he wasn't her type, she didn't have to get to know him to know that he was trying to be someone he wasn't. It was a turn off, but she still watched her sister and him interact, happy her sister was trying to move on form everything.

Matt and Caroline were to her left, jealously radiating off them as they too watched Elena and Stefan talking. Matt was still into Elena, and Caroline was jealous that once again Elena got chosen over her. Bonnie on the other hand, was to her right and was smiling, happy, much like Emma, that Elena was trying to move on with her life.

"They're cute" she said before raising her cups to her lips, but for a second she second guessed if she should take a sip. But she shrugged it off before taking one anyway .

"I don't know" Matt mumble be offering doing the same and taking a sip from his beer, not daring to look back. Bonnie frowned slightly looking between the sad Matt and Caroline, who just had to add, "yeah, right? I don't think they're right for each other" but of course that was her own jealously talking.

Emma rolled her eyes at them, "way to be supportive guys" she said with a sarcastic tone, "not like our parents died and she's looking for a fresh starts or anything"

Bonnie gave Emma a pitiful look, and Matt gave her a guilty one, but before he could say sorry she was asking off and away. Caroline only rolled her eyes, and just continued to look at Elena and Stefan talk. Her and Emma were frenimes, for as long as they could remember they had been like that. Sometimes they were friends and other times they were rolling their eyes or being mean to each other.

That's was just how they worked.

Emma hummed to herself, standing alone as she had yet another filled cup in her hands, The party was behind her, as she let herself think and drink in peace.

But the sounds of pebbled clicking together under someone's foot caught her attention, her back straightened as she glanced over her shoulder, this timer ember ing the face she saw. A sigh left her as she turned back around, "you don't give up, do you?" She asked, her lips being tempted to tug up, but she raised her cup to her lips and took a long gulp.

"I, uh, I want to apologize" the girls from earlier mumbled, pulling her sleeves down to her hands as the cold air sent chills around her, "About your shirt."

Emma glanced down just then remembering, she shrugged it off seeing the stain had dried and due to her shirt being black you could barley seen the stain. It just smelled like whatever alcoholic beverage she was drinking. "I hated this shirt anyways" she said not being biased about it, she had plenty of shirts and if anything she borrowed the shirt form Vicky.

The blonde girl pursed her lips, and rubbed her covered palms together. She rocked on her feet unsure what to say. But she figured she had nothing to loose, "I originally went up to you to see if you remembered me" she blurted and Emma brows rose and she turned back around to face the girl, "the party on the last day of summer in the next town over..."

Everything clicked in Emma's head, "yeah, yeah" the girl standing before her was the girl she danced with before Tyler had dragged her away. Her head tilted a she couldn't help the smirk that formed on her lips, "you look better with your hair down, by the way"

"I'm Lacey" she couldn't wait anymore for the introduction, seeing as Emma always worked around names and most things.

Emma hummed, "Emma" she finished off the rest of her drink, "but you would have known that if you lived here, so something tells me your either new or you dont go out much." She put the pieces together whilst she dropped her cup to the floor.

Lacey nodded, "yeah, uh, I'm homeschooled and moved here last year" making friends was new to her, and so was kissing girls, but she was it's trying to find herself and she hoped Emma was the answer.

Emma rose a brow at her, "what's a homeschooled girl doing at public school party? Let alone a rave in the next town over?" She asked

Lacey bit her bottom lip, "m-my friend Mikey" she mumbled, though it was loud enough for Emma to hear. "He goes to your school and he dragged me to that party and this one...." She was nervous because she hadn't expected to see Emma again, she was nervous because she was feeling new things she never thought she would, she was nervous because Emma inched closer to her with a smirk in her face and mischief in her eyes.

Emma had no idea what she was doing, like always she was intoxicated and wasn't thinking straight, but she knew one thing for sure. She was looking top cause a little trouble tonight and Lacey just happened to be right in front of her. "And your talking to me because?" Her hand rose to Lacey's hair, her fingers gently grazed her neck and  tickled their way up. She could tell chills were going down the blondes back and her smirk grew and she continued her finger to knot themselves into the hair she secretly wanted to do nothing but touch. Finally she worked her way up to the tight pony and gently pulled the light blue hair tie out, letting Lacey's blonde hair fall free.

Lacey's breath hitched at the close proximity, the smell of alcohol rushed into her nostrils as her as Emma's breaths mixed with hers. "I-I, uh, what-" The nervous banter was cut off as Emma smashed their lips together and Lacey melted in her touch.

The whole experience was new to her, but it wasn't for Emma who began moving them backwards, Lacey's back was roughly shoved into a near by tree. It didn't hurt, if anything, she liked it.  But like ever other human being, oxygen was apart of their life and that was the one time the kiss broke. So they could both gasp for air for a moment  before their lips could reconnect, though a single scream quickly tore them apart.

"Help! Somebody help!"

Emma's head snapped back hearing her sisters calls, her brows furrows and without a second thought she left the breathless Lacey leaning against the tree to process what just happened. Whilst Emma was process that Vicky Donovan had just been attacked in the woods by some kind of animal.
