Chapter 7

Zane's POV

"YOU LOST HIM!" Gene yelled as he held a tight fist, about ready to punch, "I don't care if your the chiefs son! You're dead!" He screamed as he swung his fist, I stood there in shock as his fist was caught. Garroth stood beside me with his hand clenched tight around Gene's fist. Garroth pushes Gene back and punched him in the jaw, causing Gene to stumble back.

Garroth tackles Gene and they began fighting on the sandy floor of the beach.

I stood there stunned, as I got picked up and thrown over someone's shoulder. I saw their brown hair and knew who it was. Laurance ran to the grass and threw me on the ground, breathing heavily and staring at me straight in the face.

"Laurance I–"

"Save it. I need to go rescue my fiancé." Laurance charged after the two men as Gene and Garroth had been fighting knees deep in the seawater. Gene grabbed Garroth's sandy blonde locks and pulled his head down, he grabbed my older brothers shoulders and held him down underwater, Garroth's head was under, his body stuggling under Gene's weight.

"Get off him, jackass!" Laurance screamed as he pushed Gene away and kicked him in his groin. Gene stumbled and fell into the water and Laurance pulled up Garroth. The brunette stood behind the blonde, holding him up by his waist as he dragged him onto the sand.

"That mother fu–" Garroth tried speaking as he began throwing up. Laurance rubbed his back and held back Garroth's soaked blonde hair from his face.

"I'm right here, babe..." Laurance spoke softly.

Gene got up and pulled out his dagger but was pulled back into the sea, being dragged under. I sat in the grass, staring with a shocked expression.

I got up and ran past my brother and his fiancé, running to Gene to see what was happening then something grabbed my ankle and dragged me under. I made a wrong move.

Laurance's POV

I turned my head and saw Zane being dragged under after Gene and I growled and yelled, "What is he doing!?" I got up and ran into the sea, I reached my arm underwater and pulled up Gene, I stared at him and punched him, pushing him away, I reached my arm back under and pulled up another black haired boy. Zane grabbed onto me in panic and was breathing heavily, something still trying to pull him under.

"Garroth! Garroth I need you right now!" I screamed loudly, trying hard to pull Zane up.

Garroth's POV

I panted as I looked up at Laurance, attempting to pull up my baby brother. I got up quickly as I saw Gene dash away into the forest. I ran up behind Laurance in the ocean and grabbed him from behind, pulling Laurance while he pulled Zane up. Out of nowhere Zane screamed and let go of Laurance's hands, Laurance and I fell backwards into the ocean and I got up, helping Laurance up. He held onto me and coughed up saltwater, his eyes closed and him looking exhausted–he's doing too much. I patted his cheek and his eyes opened, I pushed him towards land and I looked back where Zane was, he wasn't there. I walked further into the ocean and yelled for him.

"Zane! ZANE!" I screamed louder but there was no comment back.

Zane's POV

I was being dragged far under water, I opened my eye and saw the same merman dragging me down. I tried reaching down to him as he was dragging me down by my foot, my head hit a rock and my mouth opened accidentally–water flowing in. I gagged and the tears I was crying were disappearing into the sea, this is it...I'm dying.
