Chapter 6

Zane's POV

"GARROTH LET GO!" I scream at my older brother as he hugs onto my leg.

"NEVER, I MUST GO WITH YOU!" Garroth yelled back as he proceeds into coming down to the beach on the unpopular end of the island so he may see this mysterious merman himself.

"Garroth, babe, please." Laurance calmly said as he was kneeled down on the floor attempting to rip Garroth from my leg.

"I must see the merman...maybe we'll get engaged and live happily ever after together under the sea, have a child named...Paco..." Garroth mumbles aloud as Laurance looks at him unamused.

"Garroth if you come with me then the mermaid–merman..may not come." I said, Laurance just nodded his head and rubbed Garroth's fluffy hair as he pulled Garroth, standing him up.

"He's got a point, love." Laurance mentioned to Garroth, nudging him slightly.

Garroth mumbled to himself and sighed, "Fine, but hurry back and ask him if he wouldn't mind seeing a friend next time." Garroth motioned to himself and smirked. Laurance smacked Garroth in the back of the head, narrowing his eyes at his blonde partner. "Ow! Haha I'm only wanting to see a merman Laurance, I was kidding before." Garroth hugged his slightly taller fiancé, nuzzling his face against Laurance's chest, smiling. "I love you and only you."

Laurance smiled and hugged him back, "I love you too, Garroth."

"Ew, I'm gonna puke." I growled as I walked out the door. I heard their laughter from inside the small home and I pulled my mask up a bit more, I looked down at the sand as I walked along the shore. I looked out at the beach and frowned from underneath my mask and sighed.

I eventually got to the other end of the island and my eyes widened as the moon shines upon the beach, I see the merman that I saw before. But there was a man male with shaggy black hair wearing only bottoms. He wore a What looks like cotton fiber garment pants with some pulled out messy strings and dirt and sand along his bottoms. I'd say he looked like a wreck but it honestly looked kinda cute on him. Wait what am I saying!? I'm not gay. Ugh.

"Who are you?" I asked cautiously as I approached the black haired male.

"Zane?..! Sir I'm sorry for my language but back off." He spoke roughly as he must've noticed I'm big news around the island, being the chiefs second-born son.

"Maybe you should be the one backing off, I'm Chief Garte's son and you will not speak to me in that manner." I said strictly to him, glaring at him as the defenseless merman laid there on the sand with his head in the black haired males lap. "Furthermore, what are you doing with that creature?"

"This little guy? I found him. And now I'm keeping him."

"I found him first and I have claimed him already." I spoke a lie but I don't care at this point; I know of this man before and I know he hurts the wildlife of my fathers island.

"Well if you claimed him then whats his name?"

"I..erm...well I only claimed him earlier tonight." I spoke with a slightly softer voice.

Travis' POV

I'm basically gasping for my life, needing water, and these two idiots are trying to figure out who gets to keep me as a pet.

"I need..w-wa–"

"Shut up fish." Gene scolded me and slapped my tail, I frowned and opened my mouth to yell but–

"Oh and slapping him of course will make him love you." The human with black hair covering his eye said confidently, he looked angry now.

"Just leave. He's mine, you one eyed fuck up."

"Oh now you're swearing, I'm so terrified." The male spoke with a monotone voice. He kicked Gene in the jaw and he grabbed me, throwing me over his shoulder and growling at Gene as he began to walk away.

Me, still dying from loss of water, began freaking out and coughing.

"Oh...water." The eye covered male put me gently into the water and held my arm tightly as I breathed once again. I sighed thankfully, laying there, my body half submerged in the water as my other half laid along the sand.

"Give him back you–" Gene started.

"Just shut up already, geez, you're not getting him, he belongs in the sea like any other sea creature!" My eyes widened and I looked at the eye covered human, my gaze not looking away from his face. He looked at me and raised and eyebrow in confusion, "What?"

"Nothing." I spoke softly and swatted my tail at him. He flinched and fell over, letting go of my arm as I crawled into the water and got far enough in that I could swim.

Once I was further ahead I looked back as the moon shined upon the shore, showing the two males yelling at each other.

"I'm not just a sea creature...I'm so much more than just that." I growled to myself, tears stinging to my eyes.
