It's been a week since I last talked to Jermaine. But I know he's been around. I seen his car and there has been envelopes dropped off at my house for me without a return address. Each envelope had something to do with Danny's case. He's the only other person beside Justine who knew I was looking into Danny's case. Justine's been over here, hundreds of times and she didn't even know about the envelopes until I asked about them.

I haven't really found much about the case. Just the things that I already knew. Which is why I need to get closer with Jake. He's has access to the things I need.

I was just about to call Jake, but I realized he was calling me. I smiled weakly before answering it. "Hello?"
"How's my beautiful girlfriend?" he asked immediately. I cringed slightly before sniffling.

"Girl.. friend?"

"Damn, I forgot we didn't put a label on it yet. Things have been so good lately, I just... I don't know, I got a little ahead of myself."

"Um-."

"Forget I even said that."

"No, I like that. I want to be your girlfriend." I know he smiled at the other end of the line.

"Good. I really really like you."
"I like you as much as I like art."

"Well if that's true, maybe my girlfriend will let me see her artwork now. Now that we're official and everything like that." he suggested. I nodded.

"Ok."

"O- ok? You'll let me see it finally?"

"Yes, if that's what you really want. I'm warning you ahead of time, it's not that good."

"I'm sure if that the art is as beautiful as the woman who created it." I blushed.

"Thanks."

"So, when and where can I see them?"

"When do you want to see them?"

"Right now." I heard some knocking on the door downstairs.

"I swear Jake, if that's you, I'm going to punch you in your throat."

"Please don't do that. It's me." I shook my head and walked down to the door. I opened it. Jake smiled.

"So, can I see that artwork now?" I sighed.

"Yeah, but its not here."

"Oh, cool. You need me to drive."

"No need, we'll walk." I mumbled before texting Jermaine quickly. We started walking in the direction of Jermaine's apartment. Jake was telling me about some dude he arrested the other day. I was pretending to listen. But in reality, I was trying to make sure Jermaine was getting my messages to get his apartment ready for me.

When we walked up to the building, Jake tilted his head to the side then looked at me. "An apartment? You keep your art in an apartment."

"Yeah, it's uh, a friend's apartment." I said honestly. We walked inside and I waved at the doorman. He nodded at me then stared at Jake. Jake didn't seem to notice him glaring at him.

"Good afternoon, Mr. Will."

"Hello Victoria. Who is this gentleman?" he said, still staring at Jake.

"My name is Jake." he said. Mr. Will looked at me.

"Does Mr. Savage know you're here?" he asked.

"I uh, I contacted him. Is he here? He hasn't answered my calls."

"Per orders from Mr. Savage, I'm not authorized to tell a woman that."
"What about a man?" I asked nodding my head towards Jake.

"I'm not authorized to let out that information." I groaned.
