I felt my bed shift as if someone else was sitting on it. I sighed before rolling over to look at the person. I noticed Jermaine sitting at the end of my bed. More than likely he was on his phone. I sat up, clearing my throat. He turned to look at me.
"Good, you're up now. Get dressed. We have a lot of shit to do today." he stood up and threw a bag at me then looked back down at his phone. I raised my eyebrow.
"One, what is this? Two, how'd you get in here? And three, what the fuck?"
"Get dressed. Come on. We have 15 minutes to get where we have to be."
"Answer my questions." I said crossing my arms. Jermaine looked up at me, squinting his eyes.
"Clothes, my ways, and what?" I sighed.
"What are we doing today, Jermaine?"
"Shit, we're doing shit. Get dressed, we have to go."
"If you're in such a rush, why didn't you wake me up earlier?"
"I tried, you punched me, so I decided to wait." I smirked. He looked back down at his phone.
"Come on, I don't know how long Dominik is going to wait, Victoria."
"Dominik?" Jermaine looked at me.
"You couldn't ask me these questions while we were in the car?"
Jermaine up into an empty parking lot, about 10 minutes later. It was close to my house so it wasn't a far ride. But since I didn't know that, I sped through my morning routine and promised myself I'll come back and fix it later.
After about 20 minutes, another car pulled up into the parking lot, parking three spaces away from us. They sat in the car for a couple of seconds before getting out. Dominik looked directly at me sighing.
"You going to get out of the car or y'all gonna stare at each other all day? I don't got all day." I rolled my eyes.. Before I could even touch the door handle, the door was being opened. I looked up at Dominik.
"You're welcome." he said with a small smirk on his face. I turned to look at Jermaine. He nodded. I looked back at Dominik.
"Thanks." He helped me out of the car. Not that I needed help, I guess it was the gentleman way. I wouldn't know. The guys I've been around are far from being gentlemen. Dominik being one of the many guys I've dealt with in my life, being one of them. A couple of years ago, he was one of my brother's friends I had always thought would be a father to many kids by many different women. He never really treated girls right. At least, from what I overheard.
We sat on a bench not far from where we parked. We sat silently for a while. Jermaine was sitting beside me, just minding his business, mostly. After about 5 minutes, Jermaine tapped me. I turned to look at him.
"Can y'all talk? I told you, I have other shit to do today." he mumbled never looking up from his phone. I turned to look at Dominik. He was staring at me. But it wasn't in a creepy way. It was like he was trying to study me, much like I was attempting to study him. He cleared his throat.
"So you're trying to get Danny out of jail, huh?" he asked. I nodded. "Why?"
"Because I don't believe he did it." I answered honestly. "Do you think he did it?" Dominik looked down at his hands, then back at me.
"No." he answered surprisingly.
"What?" I asked, my pitch a lot higher than it was a couple of seconds ago.
"I don't think he did it. Fuck think, I know he didn't do it."
"How do you know?" I asked. Dominik looked at Jermaine, then back at me. I looked over at Jermaine, he was now paying attention. His eyes were trained onto Dominik. I looked back at Dominik. He was looking back down at his hands.
"I was his alibi. Sort of."
"His alibi? The court never said anything about him having an alibi." I sat up straighter, giving Dominik my full attention.
"We couldn't tell the police what we were doing." He looked at me. "It wasn't illegal, yet."
"What did yall do, Dominik?"
"When she was being murdered, we went out, as a joke, trying to get prostitutes." I raised my eyebrow. "It was all an inside joke with us." he said.
"Prostitutes?" I asked in a whisper.
"We couldn't tell the police and there was no real way of telling them, that we weren't at Willington Manor at the time."
"If y'all were together, why'd Danny have Vanessa's blood on him and you didn't?" I mumbled.
"We both found her, but I panicked and ran. I know I shouldn't've, but I was scared. I never seen that much blood ever." We sat in silence for a while.
"How come you didn't get the prostitutes?" I asked breaking the silence. Dominik chuckled.
"Because Danny didn't want to upset Vanessa. Crazy right? They had a fight that night, but he still didn't want to upset her more." he shook his head. "He loved that girl. He would never hurt her." he chuckled. "He didn't do it. I know my word isn't really shit, but I know he didn't do it. Danny's innocent. You just have to find other ways to prove it." I nodded.
"Thanks." I said. He raised an eyebrow.
"For what? I barely helped."
"You helped enough. And also to know that there are other people out here that believe in Danny, motivates me more." Dominik smiled. "Even though you got on my nerves throughout the years, you're one of my favorites out of all of you assholes.""What about Zach? I could've sworn you had a huge crush on him."
"Had is the keyword, Dominik." he smiled. Jermaine cleared his throat. I looked over at him. He pointed to his watch. I rolled my eyes and looked at Dominik. "Well, I guess it's time for me to go." I stood up. "Thanks again."
