I had gotten dressed a lot quicker than I had thought I would. We all had talked for a lot longer than I had expected. Jermaine and I were busy making master plans we had lost track of time. When I had finally looked at the clock, it was 6:15. Which meant I only had 15 minutes to be ready before Jake would get here.
So I quickly took a shower and got dressed. When I was done, it was 6:29. I think that's a record if I do say so myself. Especially since I had to do my hair as well.
As soon as the clock hit 6:30, I heard the doorbell ring. I smiled to myself as I ran downstairs and opened the door. Jake stood there smiling with a white tuxedo and red tie. He looked sexy as hell.
"My lady." He said holding his hand out for me. I put my hand in his. He kissed my hand then smiled.
"I thought you said we weren't going somewhere expensive."
"Technically we're not. We're going to the police ball." I looked down at my dress. My dress wasn't a ball type of dress. It was the same dress I wore to any funerals I had to go to. I'll admit, it was a bad choice but it was the first dress I saw when I looked in my closet.
"Don't worry about the dress. I got you one when I was out." He pulled a box out from behind him. "Here. I hope it fits. You're like the same size as my sister and she wears a medium." I sat the box on table close to the door and opened it.
In the box was a long rose gold, strapless dress. It also had glitter going all around it except for certain parts on the end of the dress. I looked at Jake and smiled.
"This is beautiful." I said. He kissed me gently then looked at the dress.
"I really hope it fits. Like I told you, i was guessing."
"I'm sure it'll fit. I'm more of a large but I've been dieting lately." I said truthfully. He smiled. "Let me get dressed. I'll be right back." I ran up to my room and changed into the dress. It fit me better than I had imagined. Which was a positive for me. I mean, I lost weight!
I tried to see if I had any shoes that would go with the dress. But all I had was a nude pair of flats. I walked downstairs quickly and looked at Jake.
"You're so beautiful." He said smiling from ear to ear. He helped me down the last few steps then took a step back to look at me and the dress. "Its fits perfectly."
"I don't have any shoes. Except for some flats."
"I also bought you these as well." He held out a shoe box.
"I know these aren't what I think they are." I mumbled as I took the box from him. I opened it and saw a black pair of Michael Kors heels. I looked up at him. "You didn't have to spend all this money. Especially since I'll only wear this one time." He shrugged.
"It's nothing to me. I like to spend money on people I really really like." I stared at him for a minute before he motioned to the shoes. "Come on. Before we'll be late." I nodded and put the shoes on. I grabbed my phone and followed him out to the car. I was about to get in the car but, I heard a car honk their horn. I looked up. I saw Jermaine's truck. But he wasn't the only one in it. I saw someone move their hand. Then motion for me to come over there. I looked at Jake.
"Oh, Jake. I'll be right back. I have to get something from a friend." He looked over at the car then back at me.
"Ok." He took a step back and let me walk towards the car. I looked back at Jake then at Jermaine and the person in the car.
"What do you want?" I asked as I walked up at the car. Jermaine looked at the person sitting beside him. The person leaned forward so I could get another look.
"Damn, Vic. I didn't know you was working with all of that." Henry said. I rolled my eyes.
"What is he doing here?" I asked glaring at Jermaine.
"We have a problem." Jermaine said looking at Henry. "Henry doesn't have access to the things we need. I mean, he does. He's just locked out."
"What can I say? I forgot the password." Henry said smiling.
"Henry." I mumbled.
"Is there a problem?" Jake asked from behind me. I noticed Jermaine roll his eyes as I turned to face Jake.
"Nah, Henry and I are working on a project at school. He's just here to fill me in on a couple of things. Jermaine was his ride here."
"Oh, ok." He took a step back looking down at his phone. I looked back at Henry.
"Henry, I'll do anything. I need those tapes."
"Anything?" He asked raising an eyebrow. I sighed.
"As long as it doesn't involve me hurting someone or hurting myself."
"I would never hurt you." Henry said smiling.
"Can you make your decision quickly? I have somewhere to be." I said impatiently.
"I want you to have my child."
"What?" Jermaine and I asked at the same time.
"I want a kid and I want you to give it to me. You have some nice genes. I want those genes in my kids."
"Fuck no." Jermaine said. I groaned.
"I'll think about it." I said. Jermaine looked at me and frowned.
"Are you fucking crazy?" He asked. "You ain't doing it and that's final."
"You're not my fucking father."
"Yeah I know. But that doesn't mean I can't care about what you do." He semi-shouted. We stared at each other silently.
"I think someone's in love." Henry sang. Jermaine looked back at him, scowling.
"I'll let you know my decision soon. I have to go." I mumbled waving to both of them and walked back over to Jake.
"Didn't I tell you to shut the fuck up?" I heard Jermaine yell to Henry as he pulled off. Jake watched as the car pulled off.
"You ready?" He asked. I nodded as he opened the door for me.
