I was on the ground struggling against my attacker,who tried to crush my throat.
Flames engulfed him before I could plunge my stake into his heart.
Christian had wielded his fire magic.
"Are you crazy? This house is made of wood!"
But it was too late. A spark had hit the floor. The tall flames creeped up the wooden beams, advancing menacingly.
A pillar crashed in front of the advancing vampires who screamed as the embers hit them.
I grabbed Christian and we threw ourselves out through the window, running away from the burning inferno, into the dark forest.

A/N Christian is a Moroi, a good vampire with magical powers. The protagonist is Rose Hathaway, a Dhampir who is sworn to protect the Moroi, fighting against the evil vampires, the Strigoi....
These characters are taken from ancient Roman Mythology. Dhampirs(Half humans, half vampires) like Rose are trained to become guardians to protect Moroi with their life.
This is a one shot drabble for the white belt challenge by action
