After hours and hours of waiting, the doctors are ready to call it quits. They tried telling us there's no more they can do. But I don't want to believe that. I know she can pull through. She was, no is, my miracle baby. I wasn't supposed to have her, but for whatever reason I did. Yami on the other hand doesn't know what to think. Yet I know he's still trying to hang onto that last sliver of hope that she'll be okay. Just like I am.
On the new hour, we started letting fear slip in. That is until cries are heard from the other side of the room. At first we just wanted to believe that it was just someone else's baby in another room, yet we still heard crying. It even grew louder too. Yami got up from his place beside me and turned to me. "Stay here koi, just in case.. I don't want you to be any more upset than you already are." He said with love and concern written all over his face. I watched as Yami walked over to the hospital based crib and then I noticed on the side of his face, a big happy smile cross his lips.
I immediately jump up from the couch. "Wha- what is it Yami? Is, is she okay?" Yami doesn't look at me, just answers. "Come here and tell me what you think aibou." I nervously bite my lip. "O-Okay.." I watch him reach his hand in the crib and start rubbing Hana's belly. The crying softens. Is that really her crying? I sprint over to the hospital crib and stop next to him. I peer into the baby sized bed and see tears spilling out of her crimson red eyes that her father gave her. I start getting all teary eyed myself. "M-My baby, my baby's okay.." "Yes, that she is. She's got your will power." I smile happily through my tears. "So she does." "Go call the doctor while I'm trying to calm her down." He said, still rubbing her belly. I nod and do as told.
I go and grab the phone and start pushing the necessary buttons. After a moment, someone finally answers. "Yes, everything alright?" A desk lady asks. "M-My daughter, she's awake. P-Please send someone quick." I stumble on my words a little. "Alright, someone will be up there right away." She assures me. Just before she hangs up the phone, I heard her tell someone to hurry to our room. Two minutes later, doctors and nurses are rushing into the room. Even though she was almost calmed down by the time I got off the phone, Yami was pushed away so they could check on her. Heaven really is the face of a guardian angel.
A few more hours passed by, but they finally have her stable. Hana's finally resting and no longer crying. They even have a few less things hooked up to her. The doctors don't know what happened or how to explain it. They're just glad she's okay like we are. Just to be on the safe side, they want to keep her over night just to make sure nothing else happens.
We didn't want to go home without her. So we ended up staying the night with her despite the couch bed not being very comfortable. Once we woke up, we waited all morning to find out if we could take our precious little piece of heaven home. Eventually, they told us that we could. I hugged and squeezed Yami tightly. I was so happy that I started crying again. I could feel Yami smiling and chuckling softly. I got the release forms and started signing them as fast as I could while Yami packed up everything.
Eventually, after quickly going going home and getting the car, Hana was all bundled up and situated in her car seat. Yami held the car seat in one hand and my hand in the other. We happily walked out of there and went home.
A/N: Finally this chapter is done. I hate that it's still short, but there really isn't that much to this chapter without going into the next one. Hope you guys enjoy it.
Yugi: Finally, my baby girl is coming home!
Yami smiles and kisses his forehead.
Me- See, I told you everything was gonna be okay. I'm not that cruel.
Yugi smiles and rolls his eyes at me.
Yami- She's good at making people happy, sad, and then happy again.
Yugi- Yeah.
I look at a sleeping Hana in Yugi's arms and smiles.
Me- I couldn't hurt her even if I wanted to. She's so cute and innocent.
Hana makes cute little noises in her sleep.
Me- See what I mean?
I giggle a little.
Yugi- I sure do. You have a really big heart Rose. Although it looks like that's all the time we have for now.
Me- Really? Time sure does fly doesn't it.
