I get up out of bed and head out to the living room as fast as I'm able to. It's taking everything I have to not cry right there on the spot. When I make it into the living room, I see the back of grandpa's head.
As casually as possible, I walk over to him and sit on the couch. His head turns towards me. "Everything alright Yugi?" He asked with a concerned look on his face. Instead of answering, I just shake my head no to keep from crying uncontrollably. Grandpa places his arms around my shoulders pulling me into a tight hug. I lay there, tears falling silently from my eyes.
After he pulled away, I could feel how red and puffy my eyes were. "What's wrong my boy? Where's Yami, shouldn't he be back by now?" Grandpa asks worry evident in his tone. "H he he's g gon gone." I stutter out the best I can. "Gone? What do you mean he's gone?" He asks. "He still hasn't came back from his walk yet." I pause trying to keep my breathing even. "I think something's happened to him. He's never gone this long." I add in choking back the chorus of tears. "Don't worry Yugi, we'll find out what happened to him. I promise." Grandpa says trying to comfort me. Then that was all it took. I laid there crying for the rest of the afternoon.
After I woke up, I realized that I had fallen asleep on the couch. I push the blanket that grandpa had laid on me to the side. I head to my room to get my phone off my bedside table. I pick it up and turn it on. I have a few new messages. Hopefully at least one of them is from Yami. I had messages from Joey, Tristan, and Tea. But not one from Yami.
Instead of answering them back one by one, I decided to send them a group message. "Hey guys, meet me at my house please. It's an emergency." I hit the send button and sat on my bed to wait for a reply. Almost immediately after I had sent the text, I got a reply back. "Be there in five." Said one text. Then the others after that all read the same.
Not too much later, my friends started showing up at the door. First Joey, second Tristan, third Tea, and then so on. Even Kaiba and the psychos showed up.
We all sat around on the couch. I sit on the far end of the couch curled up in a ball with my head resting on my knees. I didn't really want to sit in between anybody despite how much I wanted someone to put their arms around me and hold me tight. I wanted Yami here to do that while everyone else was at home enjoying their evening like they were before I called then here.
Everything was quiet. No one really wanted to speak up first. I guess they were counting on me to start first. I mean I am the one that called them here in the first place. "So what's going on Yugi?" Tristan is the first to speak since I couldn't form the words of what happened without being asked. I open my mouth to answer but no words come out. "Is it about Yami?" Tristan asked in a different approach. I slowly nod my head fighting the tears behind my eyes. "Did something happen to him." He continued. I nod my head again still unable to form at least a single word. "Where is he?" He pressed for more info. I shrug my shoulders. "Do you know what happened to him?" He asked. "N n no." I stuttered out trying to speak. "What do you know?" Tristan asks getting somewhere with his questioning. I take a deep breath and close my eyes for a moment. I reopen them and try to find a place to start.
I think of a good place to start. I guess somewhere around the beginning would be alright. I'd hope so anyway. I take a look around the room and sigh. "He came in the room this morning and told me he was going to take a short walk and that he would be back soon. But he never came back." I explained the best I could. Everyone starts talking amongst themselves.
A moment later, Joey decides to say something. "Don't worry Yug, we'll figure this out, promise." Joey says with a serious look on his face. Once Joey said something, everyone else starts telling me everything will be ok. Everything will be fine again when I have my mou hitori no boku back.
I look over and see Tea. She opens her mouth to begin to say something. "We'll find him Yugi, I promise." She says giving me her best smile. I weakly smile back and nod in thanks. Malik steps forward walking over to me. "We'll find him, you know we will." He grins. Malik then turns to the others. "Ok guys, we're going on a little search." He said with a clap of his hands. Everyone nodded and got to their feet. "Can I go with you guys?" I asked before they could go downstairs and ignoring the pregnancy fact. Ryou turns to face me. He grins a half warmhearted smile. "Sorry Yugi, but it's best if you stay here. You don't want to hurt yourself or the baby by moving around too much." Ryou says with a half smile then turns to leave. My heart sinks to the pit of my stomach. I wish I could go help search for him, but I understand why I can't go.
Almost all my friends are gone when I hear my name. "Yugi, we'll be back soon to let you know what we find out." Marik calls out before disappearing down the staircase. "Ok." I call back hoping he heard me. I lean back in my seat and pray they find out something. This is just wishfull thinking, but I hope instead of finding information, they find Yami.
Almost two hours later, my friends come back. I hope they found out something. When I see Joey, he has his head pointed towards the ground. I look down at his hands and see that his fists are clenched. Uh oh, this isn't good. I feel a knot forming in my stomach. "I'm sorry Yug. We couldn't find anything." Joey starts off. "Well at least we didn't find anything in the dark." He says trying to be optimistic about the situation at hand. "It's ok, I understand." I say tears tugging at my voice. I watch as Joey kneels down in front of me then he pulls me into a loose hug.
I laid my head on his shoulder and just sit there in his arms. The rest of the gang came over one by one and told me that they were sorry and they would do everything to help find him. This was it. My worst fear had come true. Yami was truly kidnapped. But by who and for what purpose?

I sit on the couch with Yugi who was curled up to my side. We sit there quietly, but I can't take the silence anymore.
Me- It's ok Yugi, don't get upset.
He whimpers as if to say, "I know, I know."
Me- We'll get him back soon and then no one else is going to take him away from you.
I smile trying to cheer him up. I catch him nodding his head slightly then he hid his face in my shirt.
Me- Sorry guys, seems like Yugi's not in the mood to talk right now. On the up note, be sure to comment and vote below.
