Yami's Pov.
Yugi and I have been together for so long. I chuckle softly. It's been over three years since Yugi and I got together honestly. I can't believe how many years have gone by. I love him more than anything in the world. I don't know what I would do without him and Hana. I know she's still getting used to me, but I still love her. Now that I'm done reflecting, on with the day.
Taking care of Hana is slowly getting easier. There are still some challenges with her with me, but not as many as there used to be. I just got finished changing her. Soon she'll be out of diapers and using her potty chair. She's growing up so fast. I wish she could stay a little like this forever.
Now that she's taken care of and in her playpen, I go to my room and grab out of the closet a little black box that I had hidden from Yugi. Tonight, I plan to propose to him on our dinner date. I've had this planned for a long time. I've had the ring for a few weeks now. I'm surprised that Yugi hasn't found it or at least been suspicious. The ring is a small silver band with the words "For eternity" engraved on the inside.
Anyways, it's time for us to go now. "Bye grandpa, we'll see you later!" Yugi calls as we walk out the door. "Have fun tonight you two!" Grandpa calls back. "Don't worry, we will." I smile with a small wave. Grandpa smiles and waves back until our backs are gone and the door is closed. "So what restaurant are we going to again?" Yugi asks me when we get out to the car. I pretend to play along because I never actually told him which restaurant we were going to. "Didn't I tell you aibou?" "No, not that I can remember. All you said was that I needed to wear nice clothes." He says, climbing into the car. I climb into the driver's seat and put my seat belt on. "Huh, I guess it slipped my mind then. Oh well, I guess you will have to find out when we get there." I tell him as I start the car. "Oh, okay.." He answers, going quiet now. I back out of the driveway and make my way to the restaurant.
For the first few minutes, it's quiet. So quiet that it's starting to worry me. "Aibou, something wrong?" I ask him as we drive along the road. He jerks a little at the sudden break in silence. "Huh? Oh uh, nothing's wrong. I'm just lost in thought is all." I raise an eyebrow at this. "Lost in thought about what?" I ask curiously, hoping everything's alright with him and wanting everything to be perfect as possible tonight. "About how much I like nights like these where you surprise me and make me feel really loved and such." I can tell he's blushing and this makes me very happy. "Awe, of course I love you." I smile happily. "I love you too mou hitori no boku." I melt on the inside a little when he calls me that. "Don't worry, I promise tonight will be the best of them all." I want to tell him as little as possible about my plans for tonight. "I'm sure it will be as amazing as all the rest." I chuckle softly, glad he's still oblivious as we near our destination.
We get to the restaurant less than ten minutes later. I get out of the car and quickly dash over to Yugi's side of the car and open the door for him. Like usual, he blushes as he climbs out. "Thanks.." I smile at him lovingly. "You're welcome koi." Once he's out, I shut the door and then take his hand as I lead him into the restaurant. We then walk inside and wait to be seated.
Once we're seated, we pick up our menus and decide what to order. It doesn't take long until we figure out what we want to eat. We call the waiter over and give him our order. We talk and laugh until our food is brought to us. Soon enough, we're eating.
After I've eaten about half my food, Yami clears his throat and speaks up. "Aibou, there's something I want to talk to you about." I perk up at this. I wonder what it's about this time. He's always surprising me with things. I hate that he feels guilty for what happened last year. We both know it wasn't his fault. I'm just glad he's here now and not at all. How many times do I have to remind him of this I'll never know. Probably for the rest of time.
I see him staring at me and I know that I've zoned out. I blush and apologize. "S-sorry Yami, I got lost in thought." He chuckles softly and waves it off. "It's alright." I take a few sips of my drink and clear my throat. "So what is it that you wanted to talk about again?" Yami smiles happily. "You know how much I love you right?" He asks seriously. "Yeah, of course I do." I answered as I sat up in my chair a little better. "Good because I love you more than anything in the world and that includes duel monsters. I'll choose you over that any day. Now, may I have your hand please?" He reaches his hand across the table. My face heats up even more as I give him my hand. He takes hold of it and caresses it with his thumb. I smile happily at the feeling. I then notice his hand to be elsewhere when it's not propped up on the table by his forearm or elbow. I watch him curiously as he pulls out a little box from his pocket. I wonder what that could be. One time he did give me some new cards to add to my deck or shall I say collection.
He shows me the little box and slowly opens it one handedly. Once it's open, inside is a little silver band. I stare at it in awe. I feel him smiling brightly at me while I stare absent mindedly. Give or take a few seconds more and he opens his mouth to gain my attention back. "Will you?" He squeezes my hand as I look back up at him. I watch him as I process everything. It takes me a minute or two before I give him my answer. "Y-yes, yes Yami." I squeeze his hand back, smiling widely with excitement. I watch as he takes the ring out of the box and carefully puts it on my ring finger. When he's done, and pull my hand away and look at the ring. I smile and tear up at the same time. I then look up to see him out of his seat and coming towards me. I smile happily as he leans in and kisses me lovingly. I kiss back and deepen the kiss.
I can't wait to tell everyone what just happened. This was the last thing I was expecting from him anytime soon. This is why I love him so much. He's full of surprises. He is the guy I want to marry. And if I was given the chance I would say yes all over again.
I wrap my arms around him tightly and hold him as we kiss in celebration. Nothing else mattered to me at this moment in time. Not even the rest of the restaurant goers could ruin this moment. The things he says and does make me the happiest guy in the world. I'll choose him over and over again for my partner until the end of time.
Me- That was so cute.
Yami- I loved his reaction, very priceless.
Yugi- *Blushes.*
Me- I hope everyone else likes it and thinks so too.
Yami- They better or I shall bring out the three egyptian gods to make sure.
Yami smirks.
Me- Yami.....
I playfully roll my eyes.
Yugi- Yami, we better go. We have so much to plan.
Yami- Alright, alright.
Me- Until next time, bye.
Yugi- Don't forget to comment.
Yami- And vote.
