Carrie stirred the next morning, her eyes slowly dragging open. Sighing, she rubbed her eyes to get rid of the sleep, and looked at Jace, lying peacefully next to her on the bed.
His expression was serene, and she had to admit, he looked almost angelic as he lay there, his arms wound tightly around her slim waist.
She placed a gentle hand on his arm, and removed it from around her waist, with a little difficulty. She swung her legs off the side of the ebd and made her way into the bathroom. Deciding she would take a shower, because she hadn't had one since the previous morning, she turned it on and stripped out of her clothes.
After the shower, she wrapped a towel around her frame and quitely made her way back into the bedroom. Luckily, Jace was still lying on the bed, asleep.
She quickly went into the walk-in closet and pulled on a pair of black leggings and a comfy oversized crewneck, before going back into the bedroom.
Jace was still sleeping peacefully, so Carrie went downstairs and made herself a bowl of cereal for breakfast.
'Carrie!'
Carrie quickly stood up, and jogged to the bottom of the stairs. 'Yeah?' she yelled up. 'Is everything okay, Jace?'
A boxer-clad Jace appeared at the top of the stairs, running a hand through his disheveled hair. 'I thought you'd left, that's all,' he shrugged. 'I wasn't sure where you'd gone.'
'Sorry, I just went to get some breakfast,' Carrie explained quickly, trying to avoid staring at his well defined naked torso. 'I didn't want to wake you up, that's all.'
He shrugged, descending the stairs. 'It's fine,' he smiled. 'Now come on, I'm hungry. You could make me some breakfast,' he grinned cheekily.
Rolling her eyes, she slapped his chest. 'Don't be sexist,' she scolded. 'I'm just having cereal, but you're welcome to make whatever you like for yourself.'
Chuckling, Jace followed her into the kitchne. 'I was just kidding, chill out,' he defended. 'What cereal do you have?'
'It's in the cupboard,' Carrie informed him. 'Just help yourself to whatever you like. There should be some bread in the bread bin, if you want to make toast or whatever.'
'Thanks,' he nodded, reaching into the cupboard and pulling out a box of Weetos. 'Ah, good taste,' he nodded, sitting down next to her and pouring himself a bowl. 'I was thinking that we could exercise Blaze and Raisin first today.'
A small laugh escaped her lips. 'I still find it funny that you called one of the horses Raisin, of all names.'
'Raisin is a great name,' Jace defended quickly, shoving a mouthful of cereal into his mouth. 'I don't see anything wrong with it. You're just unimaginatve.'
'I am not,' Carrie protested. 'You just call your horses stupid names!'
'Party pooper,' he grumbled under his breath.
She rolled her eyes and placed her now empty bowl in the dishwasher. 'I'm not a party pooper, you idiot,' she refuted. 'Now, I'll go and check on the sheep, while you finish your breakfast and actually put some clothes on.'
'Don't pretend you don't love it,' he winked teasingly at her, and she turned away to hide her blush. It was true, she did love it, because he had an amazing body.
She left the farmhouse, and whistled for the dogs, who obediently bounded to her feed. She made her way up to the sheep field, and did a quick head count. They were luckily all present, and as she made her way round the sheep, checking them all, there didn't appear to be any problems.
