School is done. It has been my focus for so long. It's as though I wasn't real until this moment. The long nights were well worth it.
My plans have been in place for such a long time that I never thought I would feel the satisfaction of actually opening my clinic doors. But it will all come to be in the next week. Regretfully, I was forced to turn Mr Hunt into a patient when he tried to grope Morgan.
She seemed more intrigued, than fearful of my reaction to his actions. I sedated him through brutish means.
"Where are you taking him?" Her voice quivered. Her fear was bleeding through her strong front.
"I know a place for ingrates such as Mr Hunt." I slung him over my shoulder and laid him out in the back of my car. "It's a place I've been meaning to take you. Can I trust you, Morgan?"
She nodded and I grabbed her hands into mine. "I will take you to my experimental facility. It's not far from here." I opened the passenger door for her and she got in without hesitation. "Can you promise you won't tell anyone about this place and my practice outside of my professional life? I'm trusting you Morgan."
"I promise, I'll never tell anyone anything you ask me not to. I've seen some of your written work and I think it's fascinating."
Her interest excited me. She wasn't just interested in the plain black and white of the medical profession. She was willing to explore deeper with me. We drove for a half hour to the house in the woods. She seemed impressed by the property until we got closer and she noticed the signs of abandonment. The bolted up doors and windows, the broken glass from scavengers who tore apart the innards of the old fashioned home.
Morgan squinted and leaned over the dash of the car. "A hundred bucks says this place is haunted."
She might be perfect.
