Our First Show

Cal's P.O.V.

Luke's a little love sick puppy. He's wrote an amazing song about Dionne. It's not finished yet but it's awesome. It was funny cos he told the band not to try anything with her and I just laughed cos I've got a thing for her best mate Lucy, it's a secret but I'm about to tell the boys. 'Look guys, I kinda have a crush on Lucy.'I say. 'Woah, That's Dionne's best friend wow I can't blame ye lad.'Luke says, laughing. 'And don't take that the wrong way, Dionne the only one for me.' 'Well since we're on the topic of crushes, I've got a girlfriend.' Our drummer pops his head up. 'Woah who?'I ask. 'Her name's Lola. She's in a few of our classes.' He says. 'Geez mate, tell us sooner next time would ya?' I say. 'Since we're telling about who we like, I've got a massive crush on Dionne's sister Sophie!' Mikey says. Everyone looks at him. 'What? Our Mikey likes Sophie? The loud and crazy party gal? Woah didn't see that coming!'I say. 'At least I'll be able to have a conversation with her.' Mikey defends. 'I doubt it, she's a complete nutter mate!' 'Oh and Lucy isn't?' Michael says. We all just laugh. He's right they are both coo-coo. But it's just Mikey's so quiet and she's so loud. Oh well his choice of girl and if he's happy, I'm happy. 'Right guys we need to talk.' Our drummer says walking to us. 'Now don't kill me but I'm leaving the band.' He says. 'What?'I ask. 'Yeah, I wanna focus on my studies and I wanna have more time with Lola. So I'm quitting but it's been fun.' He says. 'Oh well alright then.' Luke says. And at that, our now former drummer leaves. A few weeks later things are back on track for 5 Seconds Of Summer. (Our band). Luke met a guy at college who's a drummer. His name's Ashton. He's really cool and chill, he's a great laugh and a total prankster. He ties the whole band together. He brings our immaturity to a whole new level. Luke's got some big news today so we're meeting at his place. We all sit in his room. Me on his desk chair, Mikey on the bean bag, Ashton on the floor and Luke on his bed. 'Guys.....I've booked us our first show!' He says. 'What?' Mikey asks. 'Yup, we're playing at this music venue in town, they get young bands to play there and I booked us in for Friday night so we got 5 days to rehearse.' 'Wanna see the poster?' Luke asks, after about 10 minutes of jumping up and down. He pulls out a poster. It's us and our name with the venue address and some info on it but its awesome. 'I designed it myself.' He says. 'Woah, when'd you get creative mate?' Ash asks. We rehearse all week, Luke still hasn't finished his song about Dionne and he's pissed cos he wanted to play it tomorrow night.

Luke's P.O.V.

I'm mad I couldn't get my song about Dionne finished. But you know, you can't rush these things. It's tonight so I'm excited. The time comes to go set up. We set up our stage and do a sound check. I sit and wait to go on. We step out and the first person I lay my eyes on is Dionne. She's front row. She's by herself. We start playing and she dances along. What a perfect view! We have a short 2 minute break and in that time I finish my song about her and show the boys what to play and go and play it. She's smiling the whole time. I wonder if she knows it's about her. I hope she does. It's probably obvious as my eyes never left hers the whole time I sang the song. Maybe now I'll have the courage to ask her out.....
