I am the darkness hidden behind your eyes.
I am the frown hidden behind your smile.
I am the truth hidden behind your lies.
I am the cry hidden behind "I'm fine."
So what am I?
What am I?
What am I?
I am the reason you don't get out of bed.
I am the reason you hang your head.
I am the rain snuffing out your flame.
I am the reason you don't want to wake up again.
But what am I?
I can't tell you what I am,
for I am too complicated to name.Instead, I'd rather bring your name to shame.
But I'm not the one to blame,
for you refuse to make me tame.It is your fault you feel this way.
I am the only one who can hear your cries.
I am the one bringing tears to your eyes.
I am the one causing you pain.
I am the reason you don't want to feel again.
Some people call me sadness,
Anger,
Fear,
Drowsiness,
Anxiety,
Insomnia,
Depression.
But, really, I am more than that.
I am your neighbor.
I am your classmates.
Your debts.
Your enemies.
Your "friends."
I am the ones who betrayed you.
Do you know who I am now?
Of course you don't.
After all,
I am hidden.
