"Lord Hugh!" Joan shrieked.

"Shh!" Hugh crooned, his finger on his mouth as he shut the door behind him.

Joan rose and paced across the perimeter of her room to get to him.

"What are you doing here?" Joan inquired angrily.

"I've come here apologize" Hugh said, not quite looking at her.

"Realized our mistake, haven't we?" Joan replied seething with possible ire.

"Look lady Joan, I didn't intend to say that......"

"You should leave, Lord Hugh."

"But...."

"Please! Leave!"

"I would not."

"Why are you doing this?" Joan realized, that she was crying, but she didn't care, not now and not ever.

"What, Lady Joan?"

"All my life, everyone has always said how irritating and cunning I was. I never felt at peace, never found someone who felt like mine except for my best friend and cousin. I've even been cursed....how bad can It get huh?

Yes, I admit, I gossiped, talked bad, but that was when I was a debutante! Two years have already passed by, and even though the curses have declined, the rude stares haven't.

People loathe me!

And when I met you, I finally felt like I've met someone I can confide in with all my heart.

But you turned out like the rest.

You changed colours like the evening sky!

And yes, why do you even care about me so much? We've only met, and yes, we are utter strangers!

Why do you care about a nobody like me?

Please leave me like the rest did, and leave me so alone, that my self depression and internal unhappiness all ball up and kill what I thought was already dying."

It hit Hugh. No it churned his insides.

He felt the nemesis that weigh upon her, bring him down.

He gulped.

And asked "do you know, why I'm concerned?

You want to know right?

then listen...."
