Joan and Hugh, and Belle and George were all married on the same day, in the same church, at the same time.
Their wedding was splendid and just beautiful.
Almost all of their relatives were present and the four of them were the happiest.
Of course, London did not easily digest Belle and George's marriage at first due to Belle's reputation, but George made it a mission to publish the truth in the local newspaper regarding the rumor, and slowly and steadily everything fell in place astonishingly and Belle was accepted into society easily after that, and a few even apologized to her!
George's father and mother were proud of their son for marrying a girl who the society didn't accept and turning her life into a paradise. They were equally proud of Joan for bearing the anguish alone, and fighting her battle alone, without their help (even though they were a bit angry that she had hidden such a thing from them).
Joan's parents were indebted to Hugh for helping their daughter so much.
Stephanie was punished too.
William's lost life came into form again, and he turned into the same old charmer that he was earlier. He was back in season, in want of a wife. And with due regard to his flirtations, it seemed like who would get married soon!
Sophie too was married happily to Sir Colin, and their love knew no bounds.
And this all happened in a span of three months.Everyone's life was running perfectly.
"Hello Joan, what are you doing?" Hugh asked.
Joan looked up from where she was sitting on the ground "I've decided to maintain a diary. So I am just writing..."
Hugh smiled "that's nice. Come let's stand by the window and watch life as it rolls by.."
Joan laughed, stood and went to the window "have I ever told you that you are very dramatic?"
Hugh rolled his eyes and came to her "Kate, the brat keeps telling me that."
"Where is she now?" Joan asked and laughed.
"She is in the drawing room, reeling from the beauty of Pride and Prejudice" Hugh answered.
Joan laughed "I laugh so much nowadays."
"A pure sign of a happy life " Hugh smirked.
"And a beautiful husband. Not to forget" Joan winked.
"Especially, a dramatic one" Hugh said.
Joan laughed again, and her laugh stirred his soul.
Suddenly, it hit him.
He just could feel her importance, and he could tell how empty was his life without her.
She represented someone who he used to dream about earlier.
She was purposefully dropped from heaven for him, solely for him, by God. A beguiling shuddering gift.
The way she had come running to him, for the first time, it was as if his dreams had come true. It was as if the silhouette of the woman that he would watch in his dreams, had suddenly gotten a form.
An enticing form.
And he needed to tell her this now.
"Joan" Hugh said.
"Yes?" She looked at him with eyes filled with love.
"I love you. You are the Woman of my dreams."
