Stephanie and George were called.

And as they both arrived, they looked at each other, with a confused look in their eyes as embarrassment crackled in the air.

William sent Stephanie in the other room for awhile to first talk to George about everything.

George, Joan, Hugh and William stayed in the drawing room and Stephanie in the rose parlor.

"Why have you called us, Sir Billfield?" George asked "and Joan what are you doing here?"

"I'll tell you everything now" Joan said and sighed tiredly as she told George everything.

"Just so much happened and you didn't think it prudent to tell your brother once?" George asked unbelievably, and then turned to William angrily "and Sir Billfield, why the hell did you harass my sister, who do you think you are?!"

"Calm down sir" Billfield said "you would have done the same thing."

"Not even if there was one thread of sanity left in me" George shouted.

"Oh please" Billfield scoffed.

George turned to Joan "call Stephanie in the room now, and ask her if the diary is hers. Then shall this man understand that my sister is guiltless."

Stephanie was called.

Stephanie came in like a petrified goat "yes?"

Joan came forward, showing her the diary "is this yours?"

Stephanie almost scurried towards Joan and grabbed her diary "oh so this was with you! I was searching for it from yesterday!"

William's eyes widened and he thundered towards Stephanie, and the next moment, he had her by the neck "how dare you ruin my sister like that?"

Stephanie tried to catch her breath "leave m-m-e-e!"

Hugh pulled him off Stephanie.

Stephanie burst into tears and fell to the floor.

George came to her "how come you do this? I hate you!"

Stephanie stood and looked him in the eye "and what about the fact that you hurt me?"

George looked her in the eye too "everyone gets hurt in life at some point of life. And firstly I was forced  to leave you. I never had the heart too. But now that I think of it, I am glad I left a dirty-minded person like you who simply has filthy thinking and daring. A hurt person is not judged by how hurt he is, but is judged by how strong and kind he is to forgive the person who hurt him.

And trust me, I was sorry.

But now, I am not, you deserve to be punished."

Stephanie rolled her bloodshot eyes "as if life could get any better."

George turned to William "can you please call your sister down?"

William frowned but nodded and told the butler to call Belle down.

Belle came down in a moment.

George walked to William and announced "can you give me your sister's hand in marriage?"
William gasped.

Everyone gasped. Including Belle.

"Wh-what Sir George?" William asked.

"I say, can I marry your sister? I've always liked her, she is beyond beautiful. And I can bring myself to love her soon as well. Please?" George said.

"But what will London say?" William asked.

"I don't give a damn about that. I will tell the entire London about the hideous truth. And then already everyone would want to marry your sister, but then she would belong to me" George said.

Tears welled up William's and Belle's eyes.

"Please don't marry George, I'm sorry" Stephanie whispered, but no one heard.

Belle came forward "I accept. But can anyone explain what the 'hideous truth' is?"
