Kaede's Point of View

  "Just give me a second guys. Let me finish up this meeting, then I'll explain." Rantaro smiled at Shuichi, then winked at me. And for some reason, I couldn't help but stare in awe at Rantaro in response.

  He went to go sit down in his luxurious, grand chair again as I grabbed Shuichi by his sleeve and took him out of the room with me.

  After I closed the door behind our way out, I smiled at Shuichi as a sign of relief. "At least we know Rantaro has a great job for sure. And probably really likes it too."

  "I guess so, but out of all the possibilities... I'm curious as to why Rantaro is the head of Future Foundation.. And why he was touching you so much" Shuichi tapped a finger on his chin, just like his signature detective thinking pose he would do during class trials. He seemed super adorable when he would be deeply thinking. It would show how brilliant Shuichi was.

  Well, I somewhat had an idea why Rantaro was the new head of the Future Foundation. Rantaro was charismatic, indeed very intelligent, and was a kind man, not too arrogant, haughty or dictatorial, but the opposite. Very concerned for others. But that doesn't mean I fully understood his new position. Taking up the role of the Future Foundation was a big leap. 

  "I kinda am too, maybe we'll ask Rantaro after he's done with his meeting, okay Lovecake?" I kissed Shuichi's cheek.

  This broke Shuichi's train of thought, as he nervously smiled and embraced me in a loving hug.

  "Lovecake?" He giggled. 

  "Mhm, that will be my new nickname for you, like a pet nickname, understand?"

  "Then what should I address you as, Kaede?" He stared at me with his beautiful green-gray eyes.

    "Anything.." 

  "Then I will call you... Sunshine..." 

  "PFFFT SUNSHINE?" I burst into tears of laughter, which only earned me a nod. 

  "Alright fine then, guess that wasn't as cute of a nickname as Lovecake... But I still am going to call you Wifey. Let's wait until Rantaro is done with his meeting, ask him questions about him having his role as the new head of the Future Foundation... And maybe after we can spend time together again like we did yesterday... "

   "Does that sound good Sunshine?" Shuichi gave me a bright smile as he took my hand in his.

  "I look forward to it Lovecake. If it's what you want, we can chat and chill."

  Right when Shuichi released my hand and grabbed me by my hips instead, he leaned in, closing the distance between us and on his way to kiss my lips, we were interrupted from the door bursting open from the meeting room, along with numerous amounts of people flowing out. At that moment, the two of us reached back as if nothing happened.

  Aoi waved at Shuichi and I while exiting, while she-

  Woah! She and Byakuya were holding hands!!

  The exact moment when both my Lovecake and I laid our eyes on Aoi's and Byakuya's hand laced together, I couldn't help but feel happy for Byakuya.

  Aoi was such a great person, she was very kind and optimistic. She had an adorable face and was a fun person to be with. Any guy would be lucky to have a girl like her, which is why Byakuya must feel like the happiest man on Earth.

  But for Aoi, I wasn't sure I could say the same. Byakuya was a bit harsh, arrogant and was serious... Maybe Aoi deserved someone better? But if they are a thing, I'm ready to fangirl for the birth of Basahina.

  Little later, a girl with long, lavender hair came out with arms crossed. I've never seen her, but she gave a polite smile to Shuichi and he waved at her. Ah, she must be Kyoko.

  After all the people came out, the final person to arrive was Rantaro.

  "So, you wanted to talk?" He ran his fingers through his wavy green hair.

  "Rantaro!!" "Yes?" "You're the head of the Future Foundation and you haven't told us?"

  "Well, I wanted to, but I've been so busy running over the place lately... I haven't had the chance, but now. If you guys want, we can hang out now."

  Shuichi and I only looked at each other in response.

  "Rantaro, why exactly are you the head of the Future Foundation?" My Lovecake questioned.

  "Well, they decided that I might have skills for being in charge. They needed someone new anyway so it's nothing too important." The green-haired avocado humbled himself.

  "This isn't 'so it's nothing too important' Rantaro! This is your new life and I'm so proud of you!" I cheered him on as I pulled him into a hug.

  I'm pretty sure I saw Shuichi pout and pull his hat down. He was wearing that thing again huh? He claims it's for style purposes, but I think it's more than that, maybe for times like this.

  Was he being.. Jealous? No, he isn't like that! Silly me... Wait... Right!???

  "We should all hang out to celebrate. This way, we could be close friends and we can also discuss our new careers, in maybe around a few hours." Shuichi suggested.

  "It's settled." Rantaro smiled.

  Shortly afterward, I'm pretty sure the two boys had a tiny little death stare contest... What was seriously going on?

  Rantaro pulled me to him by my hand as he took me and began to walk away.

  "What are you doing with Sunshine?" Shuichi glared.

  "Sunshine?" Rantaro looked confused as he stopped in his tracks.

  "That's right, tell him Kaede." Shuichi smiled as if winning in some sort of victorious battle.

  "Rantaro can we talk privately.." I finally managed to say.

  "Gladly, and see you in a few hours Shuichi." Rantaro smirked as he and I walked away.
Shuichi had a look as if he was betrayed on his face, I felt heartbroken. Why did he look so sad?
Now, it's time to let everything out by talking to Rantaro, let's do this.
