I flew back to my home and obvious as it is, I went straight into my room and passed out. It could be from crying a river but I like to think it was exhaustion.

My parents were out for work so it gave me an opportunity to avoid answering questions I wasn't ready to answer. I woke up around six in the evening when I heard the doorbell rung. Dad and Mom both had keys so it was a bit of suspicious. I made my way to the door.
"Give me a minute," I shouted and opened the door.
I spotted a guy about my age. He was facing away from me. At the sound of the door opening, he turned to show his bright hazel eyes and auburn hair. His face changed into clear surprise to hint that he didn't expect to see me.

"Dawn?"

"Ed?"

For a minute we stared at each other in bewilderment. "Is this House #32, Ferrell Street?" he looked shocked. "Yeah," I invited him in. "For how long are you staying here?" he looked around the house to take in the sight. "For all my life minus the time I spend at college," I said with light mockery but he looked too caught up to notice. What's with him?

Then he sighed and looked me in the eye with a piercing gaze. I swear I remember those eyes. He looked at me as if trying to comprehend a conundrum. Then his lip parted and what he spoke came like a bolt from blue.

"Tweety," he seemed to decrypt a cipher.
This can't be it. "Sylvester?" My eyes widened and I couldn't believe if Almighty is playing a joke on me.

"You're... this is...how?" The art of making sentences had suddenly abandoned me.
"I can't believe it either," he seemed to reciprocate my feelings.
Was I shocked? Yes. Was I happy? I was on cloud nine. I had my doubts and questions and accusations but this was once in a lifetime moment for me and I wanted to devour it. I missed my best friend so I just lunged at him without a second thought about how this was awkward. And the best thing was he grabbed me like he used to do. But now he was all grown up and muscular so swept me off my feet and swirled me around. He pulled me into a hug.

"I missed you so much," his grip tightened on me. "I missed you as much," I held him tighter. Then we pulled back and decided to lessen our enthusiasm.

I offered him to sit and made hot chocolate for him. I stuck with my ever pleasing coffee. "I hope you're still a sucker for it," I teased. "Nothing better than reliving childhood memories," he smiled and it reminded me of the kid who pushed me down the slide because I was too afraid to try it.

"Why are you smiling like an idiot?" He raised an eyebrow. "I remember how you pushed me down the slide," I told him. "It wasn't my fault. You were taking an eternity, Tweety. I had to get on the ride too," he said as matter of fact. "I was scared," I whined. "But you enjoyed and you are welcome," he smirked. "Still cocky?" I raised my eyebrow. "Not at all. I grew up to become a gentleman," he grinned. "Yeah. As if I hadn't seen you in Science fair," I rolled my eyes. "It just happens to come around you," he explained. "Yeah. I have superpowers to bring out the cockiness in guys," I said sarcastically. "Well you do have a type," he smirked.

He was talking about Cameron. I sighed. "Trouble in paradise?" He raised an eyebrow. "I'd rather not waste my precious time talking about my non-existent love life," I said bitterly. Ed didn't push either.

"So... why did you finally try to contact me?" I wondered aloud. "Actually, I'd been trying for a while. After high school, I decided to come back and meet you but you were already gone to college. I came by again but there was no one at home. And then, this Thanksgiving, I tried again but the door was locked. I thought maybe you sold the place or something..." his voice trailed off. "I decided to give it a last shot. It was New year's eve. I thought maybe I would find you," he gave me small smile. I couldn't help but smile back.
