"So, how long are you planning to be friends/enemies with benefits?" Xavier asked me. "We haven't really talked about it. Maybe until college ends or one of us screws up or we find someone else or it's not satisfying anymore," I told him as a matter of fact. "or when you fall in love with her and she won't?" he said to my horror. "What? Why would I fall in love with her?" I asked in disbelief. I heard my door opening.

"Diana!" I greeted. "Happy Thanksgiving, Cameron, Xavier," she said. "Happy Thanksgiving to you too," I and Xavier wished her. "Wait, I'll call Dawn too," I started for downstairs. "Wait! Why do you want to call her?" she frowned. "We all are here. She must be alone there," I explained. "You didn't think of it when you were talking to Xavier," she noted. "She wanted to give us some spare time," I told her. Why is it a big deal? Isn't she happy there's a girl in a group?

"So, she can give some spare time to us too," she raised her voice. "Jeez, Diana, what's wrong with you?" I tried to process her sudden outburst. "What's wrong with me? What's wrong with you? How can you be with her? Have you ever seen yourself? She sleeps in your room, in your house. You invited her to Thanksgiving. You look at her like she's the only girl you see. You know her for like two years and you seem to care more about her than you care about me," she screamed. "Diana, she's my girlfriend," I told her. It wasn't true but she thinks Dawn is my girlfriend. And that should really stop her from questioning me.

"Yes, your girlfriend. And since when did you start caring about them? It was supposed to be our time, and yet you brought that vicious bitch to our get-together. And now you're expecting me to be okay with this? How can you even think that I'll be okay with her, Cameron?" she looked quite pissed off. But it doesn't give her any right to say things like that about Dawn. She's my best friend. She's supposed to be happy for me even if it isn't for real. If one day I do fall in love with someone, would she act like that too?

"Diana, you're being immature. Cameron has brought her here because her Dad won't be home and she would have to spend Thanksgiving in her rental apartment all alone. And she's sleeping here because Cameron didn't want her to feel out of place," Xavier tried to calm her down. "Is it true, Cameron?" Diana asked. It made sense and wasn't it the reason I asked her to come here and stay in my room. It had to be but I was no longer sure. I nodded anyway. "Fine. I'm sorry I overreacted," she apologized. "It's okay. Let's go down and have dinner," I told them.

"Where's Dawn?" I asked Betty. "I don't know. Maybe your psycho friend had thrown her in a freezer," Betty said bitterly. She never liked Diana. "Betty," I warned. "Shut up, Cameron. Your so-called best friend just told your girlfriend how she had to know you for 21 years to be in the same room as you and your best friend," Betty looked furious. Well, she's fond of Dawn and she hates Diana. No wonder, she's pissed off at Diana. "I talked to her. Where's Dawn?" I asked my sister. "That way," she pointed to another room. I made my way towards the room. She was talking to her father. I decided to wait.

I saw her telling her father that she loves him and she's grateful to have him. I looked at the girl who I once hated but now since I've started to spend time with her, I've started to like her. She made my family happy and Betty is already on her side. She played with Angela and even let me spend time with Xavier. I was sorry for what Diana might have said to her. I still couldn't figure out why Diana was behaving like she was. She hung up and looked at me. She gave me a polite smile and tried to push past me. I stopped her.

"Dawn, Thank You. Thank You for helping Betty and letting Angel play with your hair. Thank you for helping my mother in the kitchen, making my family happy and putting up Diana," I told her sincerely. "Cameron, it should be me thanking you. You let me spend this vacation with your family, to let me have this opportunity to know these amazing people. And Betty is like a sister to me," her brown eyes were fixed on mine.
