Ben was awoken suddenly by Edward.
"There's something that you need to see outside," Edward said.
Ben quickly got up and followed Edward up onto the deck. Ben was completely astounded by what he saw. A vortex of wind and storm clouds blocked all passage through part of the ocean.
"What the heck is that!?" Ben asked, surprised by what he saw.
"We don't really know, but our radars pick up that it's surrounding the entire island," Bill tries to explain to Ben.
Ben stared at the lightning zipping around through the vortex of storm clouds. He had no idea how they were going to get onto the island. Bill seemed to be talking with a group of people about what to do. Ben started to feel chilly wind coming from the vortex. The sky was darkened around the vortex, but it was strangely sunny over near the ship. Ben went over to see what the plan was.
"So, how are we going to get onto the island?" Ben asked.
"Well, our best bet is to send a small team onto the island on a chinook helicopter to track each of the dinos, put trackers in them, and then have the rest of the team find and capture them," Bill explains.
"What! No no no, you can't do that; do you know what happened last time a small team, and a helicopter went to dinosaur island?!" Ben yelled frantically.
"This time we're prepared, we'll have more than three people, and no one is going to try to kill us," Bill says.
"Fine, who's going?" Ben asked.
"You, me, Edward, Nina, and some others."
Bill points to a couple of others that he wants to have go. Ben counted and there would be eleven people going on the helicopter.
"Wait! You'll need me to go too," the scar-faced man said.
"Ok Victor, we might need you just in case any of the dinos get too... rowdy," Bill tells him.
Now there were twelve. Ben thought that he saw Victor grin for a split second, but it must have been his imagination. The twelve of them go and gather all of the things they'll need for the journey. Ben packs a few things in a small backpack. He also hides the pistol that Madam Pom gave him for his "alternate mission." Ben catches Bill on deck talking to the captain of the boat.
"Give us until 8 o'clock on the third day to go through the storm and get us, if we don't end up coming back out," Bill says to the captain.
The captain nods and walks back to his quarters. The twelve then get on the helicopter. Two of them were going to pilot the helicopter. The chinook took flight and started flying into the storm. Nina was taking pictures of the vortex the entire time. The strong winds of the storm shook the helicopter harshly. An alarm was going off inside of the helicopter. Ben shut his eyes tightly as the chopper shook more and more violently. Suddenly, quietness.
Ben peaked open his eyes. They were in the eye of the storm; the eye was the island itself. It was quite sunny over the island, the storm only spun around the outside of the island. One of them said for everyone to look down. Ben couldn't believe his eyes, snow, real snow, as far as the eye could see. The chopper was landed on the ground and everyone got out one by one. Ben thought that he saw a herd of dinosaurs off in the distance, but he quickly realized that they were not dinosaurs, they were woolly mammoths!
"What in the world!?" Edward exclaimed.
