I bolted up from the ground full of rage. I looked around at Ender, Hayden and Ellie. I dashed over to the door and unlatched it. I opened the door and closed it behind me. Hayden opened the door again and shouted,
“Hold on Klaus! I’m coming with you!”
I completely ignored her. She ran back inside to grab the ammo and water. Ellie stumbled over Ender who was standing in the door way, to get outside.
“Klaus, you are going to get yourself killed”, Ellie said as if she knew me.
“Shut up! Stop acting like you know me. You don’t. If you did you would know I have a hatred for Jinx. He needs to be stopped”, I said as I looked around for a vehicle.
“No, I don’t know you, but if you want to go, be my guest. There is a hovermotive around back. Here are the keys.”
A hovermotive is a hover car that is a motorcycle. It looks just like the ones in Tron, only those are complete bullshit with the “killer rays” that pop out behind it.
Ellie tossed me the keys as Ender grabbed them.
“Klaus, do you know what you’re getting into?”
“Ender, Yes I know what is happening. I’m surprised you don’t have as much rage as I do! What? Did you not love Mocha as much as everyone thought you did?”
Ender’s expression went from concerned to anger. His face got a demonic red. I didn’t mean what I said.
Mocha Pyro was Ender’s fiancé. Ender was Jinx’s defender against any forces of evil. Ender doesn’t like to talk about it too much, but from pictures she had beautiful brown flowing, soft hair with a dark tan and green eyes. One day Jinx fired Ender and his other defender. He kidnapped Mocha, which left Ender in a fright. Jinx used her for one of his experiments which went terribly wrong. She became a half- human half- spider creature. Ender broke into his lab and took her back. Ender was demoted to agent and left in despair. Mocha had a huge instinct to kill. She was a recluse. Because of her instinct to kill, Ender shot his only love in the head.
Ender punched me in the face and fell on me. As we hit the ground, he dropped the hovermotive keys. I threw Ender off of me and crawled over to the keys. Ender flew back ward and hit the concrete. Hayden pushed Ellie out of the way and she fell on her face. Hayden sprinted over to me and hopped on the back of the hovermotive. Under her breathe, Hayden whispered,
“To Kakos”
I started the hovermotive. I twisted the handle upward to fly it. We flew out of the gates and into the outer limits. We flew for a couple of hours seeing a couple of juggernauts here and there, but then Hayden grabbed onto me tightly. I wasn’t sure why, but when I looked farther into the distant field, I saw a horde of juggernauts. Hayden and I were going to need to fight them off very briskly. I stopped the craft. I looked at Hayden. I said,
“Get the guns and rope. I’ll need you to tie yourself to me and sit backward on the craft. Then, I’ll need for you to get two Pythons. Okay? It will be just like target practice!”
“Klaus, I’m not sure if I can shoot with a gun.”
“Hayden, it’s like a bow. You aim, lock and fire!”
Hayden smiled, nodded her head. She did as I asked. She dashed to the back to get the supplies. I started the craft and we headed toward the horde. As we got closer, I could hear the groans of the juggernauts waiting to tear people to shreds. The juggernauts all looked at me and stopped. I wasn’t sure what was going to happen, but I knew it wasn’t going to be pretty. The juggernauts dashed after Hayden and me. I turned to my left and floored it. I was still going the same direction; I was just going to escape the juggernauts.
Hayden held up her guns and fired away. Even though her weapon of choice was a bow, she was still great with anything you put in her hands. That was her specialty. I don’t have a specialty, unless parkour is something. I could be mistaken for a monkey if I tried. Ender, well he was very great with his brain and combat tactics. I guess we all had something we were good at, even if we didn’t think so.
Hayden had 16 shots. She hit 13 and missed 3. There was a horde of about 50 left. The juggernauts were racing to get us. The craft was going about 127 mph. The juggernauts were keeping up with us. I started to zigzag like a madman. Hayden was screaming something that sounded similar to “faster”, but I couldn’t fully make it out.
Suddenly, I sparked an idea. I reached around behind my back and Hayden’s back. In between there was a bag full of water and ammunition. I zipped it open, almost losing control of the craft. I grabbed two bottles of water and threw them behind me. The juggernauts stopped running after us and turned around to drink the water. I flew about 70 more yards and stopped.
Hayden untied herself.
“Well, that was intense”, Hayden said packing everything up quickly.
“Yeah, well this is just the beginning.”
“Klaus, the fortunate thing is Kakos is visible.”
“Really, where is it”, I said throwing everything on the craft to try to get a move on.
“Right there”, Hayden said lifting up her finger.
Hayden pointed to speck in the distance that almost looked like houses in an airplane taking off.
“It’s so close”, I said as I felt a gust of wind fly past us.
It was comparable to a rocket getting lunched into space. Another craft flew by us at an extraordinary speed. The craft had to be going 500 mph. A craft stopped in front of us about 10 feet away. There sat a guy and a girl, Ender and Ellie.
“Now, you had to know if you left, I would come after you Klaus.”
“Yeah, I know Ender, but what’s she doing here?”
Hayden got off the craft and said,
“Yeah really, we don’t know if she’s infected or not and where did you get the other craft?”
Ellie spoke, “We found it. We were pretty fortunate too because the city had a few juggernauts in it and when you left, they heard the craft and came after us. We had to run and find a vehicle. We ran to the city hall. It had a few hovermotives there, so Ender distracted the juggernauts until I could hotwire the craft. Yeah, I am, I mean was an engineer.”
Hayden gave Ellie a dirty look and rolled her eyes. Ellie noticed it.
“Listen, if we don’t all work together, Klaus will most likely be the only one to live”, said Ellie as she turned her head toward Kakos.
I felt incredible! I was glad to see someone actually thought I could survive through this hellhole. Hayden walked over to Ender to check how much supplies he salvaged. I looked at all of them down a row. I then remembered what Hayden said earlier,
“To Kakos”
I smiled said with an anxious feeling and said,
“To Kakos!”
As I looked back at Hayden, she smiled. I guess she remembered what she had said too.
