Just as Minkie told her to, Coal Dust that day had told Honey Dew she couldn't bring her to her house. "Why is that?" Honey Dew asked curiosity filled her eyes "We have huge heavy stuff here." Coal replied "I don't want you to get hurt or anything." Honey Dew nodded "Wanna go play at my house?" Coal Dust shook her head "I can't i'm in trouble right now. But i can play with you tomorrow after i do chores." Honey Dew held the look of disappointment until the mention of tomorrow.

"That's great! I'll see ya then!" and with that Coal and Honey went their separate ways, Coal spent the rest of the day doing chores and playing with her dolls. She pondered curiously why Minkie let Honey Dew and her family be, the same question that came out of Bab's mouth.

"Why did you do that?" Babs hissed as Minkie put an ear to the walkie talkie "What do you mean?" Minkie asked "Letting the neighbor walk free, what if they see about our opperation we run around here?" Minkie sighed "I know they might." Babs frowned "Then why?" Minkie glanced out the window watching Coal Dust. "To give her something she deserves."

The next day came by as Coal quickly did her chores, the second the sun rose. Today was going to be a busy day and Coal realized she had too many things to choose from. Coal gazed at each doll, She put a hoof to her chin in thought. "I cant take Purple Buttons... But who do i pick?" AppleBloom walked into the room as she lifted the doll. "Why cant ya take Purple Buttons?"

Coal Dust looked back at the light yellow filly before replying "Purple Buttons was made from a real life pony remember?" "Oh yeah." Apple Bloom put a hoof behind her head "So uh, who's yer friend?" Coal Dust had picked up a cow pony doll before shaking her head "Her name is Honey Dew! She lives with her Dad, her pa paw, and..." She shuddered before saying the word that left a bad taste in her mouth "...Her ma..."

Applebloom saw the discomfort Coal was in "Hey i'm sure her ma is a nice pony!" Coal frowned "I'm sure she is.." recalling back to the talk she and Honey had "Applebloom, are there good mamas out there?" Coal looked at Applebloom for an answer but merely got a shrug "I never knew my mom, but i heard she was the best mare there was..." She trailed off. Tears welled up in Coal's eyes "If you and Honey had good Mamas, why did i get a bad one?"

Applebloom stopped "What did i do wrong?" Coal asked as she sat onto the floor "You didnt do anything wrong Coal, lemme tell you something Minkie would tell you." She took a seat next to Coal before wrapping a hoof around her "The world is unfair, Derpy and Minkie with her sister had bad moms, i never met my mama, and Babs.. well I'm not sure about hers." Coal looked at Applebloom "Life is cruel, but here is my advice to you. When life kicks you down, just get back up and kick back harder."

Applebloom wiped the tears off Coal's eyes, "Now why dont you go ahead and go play ok?" Coal Dust nodded before she picked up an unicorn doll and left. Something sparked within Applebloom, the same way her older sister Applejack would give as she felt down. Applebloom felt something in her eyes, was she crying?
