As promised, Coal came over to Honey Dew's house. Derpy had packed a lunch for her and asked in return how her day was. Coal smiled a little at the thought, as she rushed through the corn feild. Derpy looked at Minkie "Lil' Minkie is talking alot now." Minkie glanced over at Derpy who was smiling happily, Derpy was correct; Coal wasn't as quiet as she used to be. "It means she is healing." she couldn't help but form a small smile.
Coal trotted through the corn field, looking left and right before stopping, she pulled out her bag looking at it with a small sense of dread, she wiped her brow as she slowly opened the paper bag. Inside there was sandwiches, but then there was desert. Coal looked left and right quickly before taking a large gulp.
She lifted the cupcake out of the bag before stuffing it into her mouth. Chewing was tough as she tried not to choke on the treat, she swallowed before spotting another cupcake with a note. "Desert first huh?" Coal jumped at the sound of Honey's voice, "What'cha got there?" Honey Dew asked, Coal Dust had been holding the cupcake with the note, but not before Honey read it "Give this special treat to your new friend, love Derpy. Wow, that was super nice of your... is she your mom?"
Coal Dust shook her head "She's a big sister." Coal replied, a part of her knew she wasn't lying but she couldn't help but get a sick feeling watching Honey hold the cupcake. "Well as i like to say, Desert first." She took a bite causing Coal to vomit a little in her mouth. Coal shook her head before walking to Honey, "So what should we do today?" Honey finished the rest of the cupcake before wiping her mouth "We should check out my tree house!" Coal tilted her head "You never saw a tree house before?"
Coal shook her head, Honey Dew took her by the hoof and led her to the little shack, held by the branches of an old apple tree. Honey Dew lept at the base of the tree, gripping onto a branch by her teeth as her hind legs kicked, they soon caught grip as she pulled herself onto the tree house. a small rope ladder was put down in front of Coal whom climbed it.
With a final grunt Coal pulled herself inside, she looked around in amazement "Woah." Honey Dew giggled "Yep, woah indeed." She pranced around the poster covered building "I collect these movie posters when i can, it's a hobby of mine i tell ya." Coal stood admiring a poster that showed a mare who's golden mane flowed through the parchment with such a sad somber expression.
"How do you get all of these?" Coal asked turning back to the filly whom had grabbed a juice box "Whenever my ma and dad go into town, i see a poster just lying out in the back. Rather than leave it there i take it home and make better use of em' " She replied handing Coal a Juice box, "I want to be like one of them someday, but my dad wont have any of it. Sayin things like 'them city folks are spoiled like rotten fruit' and such."
Honey dew soon got a look of sudden realization before running to the front of the tree house, pulling up the ladder. "Hey Coal.." Honey Dew turned to Coal Dust "At Sunset.. Don't think of my dad too differently ok?" Coal looked at Honey with a bewildered expression "Why?" Honey gave a smile but failed to mask the fear "My dad is a good dad, but he's different when he drinks the funny water or somethin.."
Coal silently got up and walked to her "We always have a spot in our house, you can stay with us if you want" whispering in a low voice but loud enough for Honey to hear "I cant, then who would take care of my ma and my papa?" Coal thought about it "We'll see, but remember, i don't have the patience for bad ponies."
Coal walked home, just as she promised Minkie when before the sun sets, She arrived at the door of the house and opened it slowly. "Applebloom." She hissed as the yellow filly came by "Welcome back, but why are you whispering?" Coal Dust looked both ways "I'll do it, but only on one condition." Appplebloom couldnt help but smile wickedly "What's yer condition?" Coal Dust's urged Applebloom to come closer "I only bake the worst ponies out there, so they never hurt the good ones again."
