First Year

Chapter 14

Dumbledore's P.O.V
I was pacing around my office when I hear the door open and two of my best pupils walk in. "Ahh professor Dumbledore we need to talk to you about something ," I hear Hermione say. I calmly think for a second before saying "please explain ms Townsley."

"Draco and I over heard Potter saying something about a three headed dog on the third floor corridor and something about the vault that got broken into and we decided to do some investigating as you know Slytherins can be quite curious. We had done weeks of investigating and we found out that there was a trap door and that Potter was going to stop professor Snape from going down there and getting the Philosophers stone." My eyes instantly widened as she said this why was Harry trying to put himself in danger?  I tried asking myself.

"Please continue," I stated to the two first years standing in front of me. "Well we found out that Potter was going to go in there with Weasley and we wanted to go in before them so we left as we all had finished eating dinner. Professor Quirrell found us in there and we found out that he was associated with he who must not be named. So as soon as I cracked the last task with mirror of erised and got the stone we ran out and left." She said I just looked at her I had nothing to say she was smart. At least she knows who her enemies and friends are that's all I can say.

"Could I please have the stone ms Townsley?" I asked her hoping she would hand it to me without any troubles. "Oh yes sorry Professor," she said as she handed me the stone. "Thank you ms Townsley thank you mr Malloy you two may go to bed now I will reward you as soon as I can." I said to the two in front of me.

Hermione's P.O.V
We walked into the Slytherin common room and straight away went to bed so no one could hear us. As soon as I got into bed I looked to the side of me to see that it was 1:00 in the morning. Looks like I'm not gonna get much sleep luckily we leave in three days. I let my head touch the pillow and I drifted off to sleep.

I woke up and I realised today was the day that we would find out what house would win the house cup. I chucked my Slytherin robes on and walked into the common room to see all my friends down stairs waiting for me. We walked to breakfast and then left for our last day of classes for the school year.

*time skip to dinner*

As we walked to dinner with a spring in our step. We sat down at the Slytherin table and we waited for professor Dumbledore to come and speak to us. "Well welcome to an end of another fantastic school year but before you can all go home tomorrow we need to award the house cup. In last place Slytherin with 298 points." When I heard this I lightly clapped we lost how could we have lost. I looked at Draco who was sitting next to me and he interlaced our fingers for comfort but he also had a look of confusion on his face.

"In third place Hufflepuff with 369 points," the Hufflepuff table clapped louder then we did. "In second place with 489 points is Ravenclaw," the Ravenclaw table cheered. Which means no it can't be Gryffindor won that's in possible they couldn't have. "In first place Gryffindor with 599 points,." The Gryffindor table cheered and I instantly got pissed off it couldn't have happened. "But before I can give the house cup away I have some last minute points to hand out, 100 points to Hermione Townsley for being able to crack simple riddles that others  wouldn't be able to, 100 points to Theodore Nott for his knowledge on wizard chess, 100 points for Draco Malloy for his knowledge on herbology and 50 points each to Blaise Zabini and Pansy Parkinson for being able to help and guide people along." 

Which means we have a new winner Slytherin one we actually one. "Which means we have a new winner, Slytherin has won the house cup well done Slytherin." The whole Slytherin table cheered and even Snape give me a small smile. I was so happy maybe curiosity is a good thing. We had an amazing dinner before we all walked to the Slytherin common room in pure happiness. I was so happy and I could see Draco was as well. I went to bed knowing that we had a good year at Hogwarts school of witch craft and wizardry and would not change it for the world.
