Korrina

You had battled through some other trainers to get your way to Korrina, the guru's granddaughter. Since it was a fighting type gym, Noivern had been taking most of the battles. You were given some roller skates for the gym, which you had to learn quickly how to practically run in them and skid on rails, otherwise, you were in for a long gym battle. This was one of the only times Zora was fine being in her pokéball. It did take a while to get used to roller skates, but eventually, you got the hang of it, and were semi-confident with the rails. The last rail had connected to the center, so you positioned yourself for a good start and dashed for the rail. As you approached, you jumped off the ground and began to slide on the rail. You went through a turn or two but made it to the middle to Korrina. She clapped her hands, then smiled at you.

"Nice job!" She said. "But you've still got plenty to learn if you're going to grind on those skates." You gave a sigh of relief, able to calm yourself down knowing you weren't going to crash onto the ground.

"I don't think I'll ever get the hang of this." You admitted. You recomposed yourself and looked at Korrina confidently. "Korrina, I'm here for my gym battle." She grinned at your response.

"Alright then, but just to warn you, I'm not going to go easy on you." Korrina said.

"It should be you who's worried about getting wasted." You taunted. A referee came from the side.

"The battle between Korrina of Coumarine City against (Y/n) from Unova shall begin!"

"Mienfoo! Let's show them what we've got!"

"Mienfoo!"

"Noivern, let's show them how far we've come!"

"Noivern!" Noivern was a little tired from battling so hard, but he's been through worse.

"Let the battle begin!" The referee shouted.

"Noivern, start off with Aerial Ace!" You shouted.

"Mienfoo, Fake-out!" Noivern went to strike Mienfoo with his wings, but Korrina's Mienfoo proved quicker and faked an attack, making Noivern flinch back.

"Easy there Noivern, go at it again with Aerial Ace!"

"Good job Mienfoo, now use Double Slap!" Korrina said. Noivern flew forward, wing ready to strike as Mienfoo was ready to strike.

"Strafe and strike!" You shouted. Noivern flapped his wings, taking him just a bit higher than what Mienfoo prefered. He dodged the attack and slashed his wing into Mienfoo, causing it to fly back a few feet before sliding to a halt. "Good job Noivern! Now hit it with Iron Tail!"

"Noiiiivern!"

"Mienfoo, Power-up Punch!" Korrina's Mienfoo jumped over the Iron Tail, then leapt at Noivern, hitting him in the face and sending him back a few inches. He was starting to get a bit tired. The battles were starting to take its toll. "Good Job Mienfoo, now use Double Slap!"

"Counter it with Hurricane!" You said. As Mienfoo went to try and strike Noivern, he flapped his wings, pushing himself backwards, then started to violently flap his wings. The sudden burst of wind caused Mienfoo to be picked up into the air and tossed around until it crashed down into the ground. It staggered back up to its feet. "Holy cow that's one durable Mienfoo!"

"It pays off to do some training." Korrina smirked. "Mienfoo, another Power-up Punch."

"Alright Noivern, finish it off with Aerial Ace!" Noivern and Mienfoo charged at each other. Both of the moves collided, causing a small explosion to happen, surrounding both of them in a cloud of dust, making it difficult to see what was going on. In the midst of the dust, you saw Korrina's Mienfoo fly out of the cloud until it slammed against the wall, then falling to the floor, knocked out.
