Sitting down inside the lobby was absolute torture. It felt like needles were being inserted into your skin as a blade was slitting your throat multiple times, but not enough to grant you any relief of the pain. Your hand had been wrapped up in gauze after the bleeding had stopped, but you weren't concerned about yourself getting infected or not. Zora was the one you were horrified about. As soon as the doctors had gotten Nurse Joy and a few others in, they had called your parents and soon after, both came rushing to the hospital to check on you. You ignored them, feeling every emotion spike as you felt them try and comfort you. You restrained yourself from lashing out at them, only able to shake in place.
Hours later, Guzma came into the hospital, and after seeing how shaken up you were, decided to just sit in the seat across from you. He kept it short, saying that after they chased off the wraiths with the help of the champion, he had been told by the champion to keep tabs on you. You might have scoffed at him, but you were still too conflicted with emotions. Afterwards, the rest of your Pokémon came in through the door. All of them saw the complete conflict you were having inside yourself. Before Guzma left, he said to give him a ring if there was any kind of trouble. You were completely silent, letting your parents speak and ask questions both at you and Guzma.
It's now been three whole days, and the doctors have refused to let you see Zora. Shadow wasn't taking it well, but it was a lot better than you were. For the most part, you would just keep crying until your eyes went dry. You got little sleep at the most, and none of the emotions were going away. They never faded, they never slithered off, they just bode inside of you, building, filling you up from the inside until you felt like you were going to vomit them out. Your parents tried to convince you to go home with them, but you were completely adamant against it. You were not leaving Zora. Not until you knew she was going to be alright. Each time you asked the doctors or nurses to let you in, they told you know, and have even been forced to hold you back on several occasions because of how hot-headed you were getting. Eventually, sitting in the same chair you've always been in, you had enough.
You stood up, then started walking towards the double doors leading to the patient rooms. The nurses at the desk were too busy with their computers to notice you push through with your pack in tow. It still hurt to clutch your right hand, but that was the least of your concern. You were walking through the hallways of the hospital, looking at the names on the doors to see if you could find Zora's. If there wasn't a name on it, you'd open it to make sure if it was hers or not. Going through the first hallway was a dry desert, so making a turn and checking the rooms in another short hallway, you came to the other long stretch. Looking left and right, reading the names on the door, your eyes seemed to trace back to one that was near the middle. You started to quicken your pace without much thought, then you started to go at a near sprint. As you approached the door, you started to slow down when you started to hear voices from behind the door.
"At least tell us if she's going to make it!" A feminine voice said behind the door.
"I can't disclose that information without everyone here. I'm sorry, but it's the regulations." A masculine voice responded.
"Have you seen the state (Y/n) is in?! He's been sitting in the hospital for three days! The only food he's been getting has been meals we've brought him!"
"Honey, yelling isn't going to accomplish anything." You knew for certain who it was behind that door. Stopping yourself and just listening, you slowly felt yourself tense up.
"Please," your father said, "we think that if (Y/n) hears any bad news....... We're afraid he's going to do something stupid. Just let us know so that we can at least relay the message to him." There was complete silence going on. There wasn't a doctor or nurse passing you by, there were no footsteps, you couldn't even hear any breathing. The only thing audible to you was the heart monitor faintly beeping in the room. It was only interrupted as the doctor gave a soft sigh.
